Except it wasn't like a runner tripping when they got to the finish line.
This is like a runner coming out to be introduced a year prior to the race and managing to shatter their ankle yet pretending they are totally ready to run this race. But then everyone talks about how fucked that ankle looked and the performance issues that's gonna bring when it comes time to race so what happens?
The race gets delayed a year.
Then when it comes time to actually run the race the ankle looks a bit better but then you realize the runner doesn't have any shoes... or shorts... In fact for some reason they've got a football helmet on cause they are worried about falling again. You point out that runners should have shoes and that you're here for the 500m dash but instead the runner informs you that they are gonna be in random events and some of them will be a 500m dash but mostly you're gonna see stuff like freeze tag, red light green light, and some Simon Says. Somewhat race like in being quick but not really a race. You ask why we can't just get a 500m dash and get the response that the event staff didn't foresee a strong desire for a 500m dash and are worried the other events won't get as much attention if the 500m dash is readily available to anyone who wants to watch.
Then someone comes by offering you a pair of cat ears for $15. The races start but you can't sit with your friends cause you came with a group of 4+ and the stadium doesn't have the capacity to sit you together so you can't come in. If you break up into smaller groups of 3 or less then you can.
And that's about the time you realize there isn't even a stadium here, just a track and some folding chairs placed randomly around it. You ask if you can rearrange the chairs and set things up so you can see better but you get told that is still being worked on and they'll have plans soon so you can build what you want. Then those plans get delayed. A few times.
For some reason a single race takes 6 fucking months too.
All while you watch other racing events offer the 500m dash, have a fully equipped stadium with services like a bathroom and assigned seating for you and your friends, already have the next series of racing events posted with dates on when you can come and watch, all while the people who own the races tell you that this is so much better than when you used to buy a single race ticket and got the full experience without all the fluff, $15 cat ears, delays, missing features, and more.
Then some asshole tries to convince you over a year later they only messed up the finish of the race and not the entire fucking thing.
"rent free" they said.🤣
Lems have a really hard time accepting the failure that is known as Halo Infinite, but now that its coming from daddy himself, maybe, only maybe, you will wake up and accept it as is.
bu bu but 9/10. bu bu but 87 meta. bu bu but 21million downloads. LOL its a failure, and your boss, Phil, has confirmed it.😆😆

They will never accept reality. They are only able to parrot good PR, not even self reflecting critical thinking from the bosses would change their minds. This is mainly why lems are the biggest farce in the gaming community
Halo Infinite has solid gameplay, content has struggled. Slow drip.
Halo Infinite launched in a much better state than MCC did. I'd say MCC today is one of the best FPS collections to date.
It took nearly 3 years for MCC to get to this point.
The new Forge mode for Infinite looks to be miles above previous forge. When Forge gets going I have this sneaky feeling that the Halo community will grab it by the reigns and run wild. Giving Halo infinite well... Infinite content. Similar to what you see in other games with player made content (Mario maker for example).
I love the game, but it DOES need more content.
Forge might have that fix

Gameplay/gunplay is the foundation. Everything else its the actual structure. This flagship title launched with the foundation alone. Who does that?
@hardwenzen: the foundation is the most important part. Without that everything else is meaningless. That's why I say Infinite still has life, just needs the content.
This new Forge mode looks special. Quote me on it. We've never gotten these kind of tools to mess with.

Yes, the foundation is the most important part. But to build on the foundation, you need a developer that knows wtf is up. None of this is present, so just like in China, thousands of buildings never went further than building the foundation.

MCC launched completely broken. So that's as low as the bar goes. And while the turn around is a good thing, I refuse to get behind this modern practice of putting out objectively busted products, at full price, and expecting supporters to wait years for what they originally bought. I only bought the CE portion, and I still don't feel good about it.
Out of curiosity, what other fps collections would be comparable?
Indeed..
Everything was set up for success.. A great campaign, great multiplayer, great reviews, 20 million players at launch, etc.. But they completely dropped the ball on the post-launch content..
There needs to be a steady flow of content in order to retain players.. They'll get there eventually but it's too little too late for them to be a top 5 or even top 10 game at this point..
Jesus even Antwan stopped damage controlling. Its over boys. Its all over.
I warned you over a year before release, but you were too blinded by the hype. It is what it is.
Half finished Halo infinite 9/10
God of war 9/10
Horizon forgotten worst 8/10
Sony saps can't get a break 🤣

Guess this only proves that MS opened their pocket books to garner favourable reviews, because even the bosses admit it was a failure. don’t know of any other company that would admit to their product being shitty if it got rave reviews. 🤡
@randy_lahey: you must be hardwenzens alt. Sad, you make multiple accounts to bash halo infinite, one of the best games this gen. It's pretty pathetic and sad how much cows have a hate boner for halo. Matt Booty just said there going to start making more content, that's a positive. Let THAT sink in.
@blaznwiipspman1: I’m starting to think you’re just slow. The facts are MS has admitted halo is shit, it’s time for you to accept that and start hyping yourself up for 2024 or whenever their next big game is supposed to drop.
@randy_lahey: did you read the article, Matt Booty accepted the flaws and said 343 is working on it. Soon were going to be drowning in Halo content. It must be tough for halo fans like you and hardwenzen. Don't worry, more is coming. We're going straight to the moon 🚀
@hardwenzen: '"rent free" they said.🤣'
You mention Halo in literally every post you make...
Someone needs to do mention the dirty word.

my stance on the game has never changed..
the title delivered on Dec 8, 2021 was outstanding; deserving of the 9/10 and 87% meta.. it's the post-launch support that has been abysmal..
that said, i'll be back on the game next week for the Winter Update and i'll be back again for Season 3.. ultimately, Halo Infinite will never contend with the likes of Fortnite, Apex, or CoD Warzone though.. they had a shot at a top 5 game and they blew it..

But that 9/10-87meta is fake. You're only looking at one portion of the game, the one that's less important. If you were to combine the score of the multiplayer, the main reason people play Halo, you'd be real far from the scores you're mentioning.
@hardwenzen: if you disagree with the reviews, that's fine.. but the game was still a 9/10, 87% meta at launch and (having actually played the game) I agree with those scores.. sites like IGN specifically reviewed the multiplayer and it was also a 9/10 at launch..
they dropped the ball on post-launch content.. on that i agree..

That's not what i said. You hide behind the campaign scores (score i disagree with, but that's not the point). People play Halo for its multiplayer, just like CoD. The multiplayer, ever since day one, is nothing but a joke. Combine that joke with its campaign, and you're getting a 7/10 AT BEST.
@hardwenzen: read the edit above.. the multiplayer was also reviewed and praised at launch by sites like IGN which gave the multiplayer a 9/10..
lol stop. praising multiplayer at launch is like praising BF2042 at launch. If you believe what you're reading, you're a fanboy of the game/series.
@hardwenzen: you can't seem to accept the fact that the game was outstanding at launch but the post-launch rollout for the F2P multiplayer was a bust..
those two things can be true at the same time but you just want to stick with your fanboy nonsense.. by all means, continue.. but the facts don't match your narrative..
I had a great time with both the single player and multiplayer aspects of Halo: Infinite at launch, great stuff. Shame they didn’t keep things going post launch. Hopefully they’ll bring things back on track.

Again, you're ignoring what i said. The multiplayer had no content at launch. Had the same garbage hit reg. You couldn't play customs cuz it was broken (possibly still is lmao). Their progression system was the worst a GaaS game has EVER seen. And here you're, defending its launch😁Come on now, we all know how much of a shitshow Infinite was on hour 1. There's no need to snake around this. It was bad, and its even worse now. This is Halo Infinite, MS's flagship for you.
“These days, with a game like Halo Infinite, shipping the game is just the beginning. There has got to be a plan for content sustain; there has got to be a plan for regular continuing engagement. And we just fell short of the plan on that," Booty said.
That quote has me over here scratching my head… “Fell short”?!?!? Have they seen any of these other shooters lately. There’s no way they could have. They didn’t fall short… The content was MIA. The modes were MIA.
They didn‘t “fall short.“ They knew EXACTLY what they were releasing. The game was delayed before, and they needed something launched, finished or not. They should just come out and say that instead of “we fell short.” Because that insinuates that they felt they HAD the content, and weren’t aware the audience was expecting more. And if that’s the case, none of them should be in the the positions they’re in, because they aren’t paying attention to the rest of the industry… Period

That is exactly what's happening.
Nice straight from the boss. No more Halo success PR on this forum yes!
Yeah right. They’re gonna call Phil Spencer and Co. a Cow, and use some 🤡🤡🤡’s before admitting Xbox did something wrong.
This isn’t the first time they’ve had a problem with something Phil, or another exec has said. They’re gonna now default to GameSpot and IGN review scores over what Xbox brass says.
The sad state of desperation by cows on this board. GoW releases in less than a week and here you are still damage controlling halo's 9/10 87 MC scores.
@hardwenzen: i'm simply stating the fact that the multiplayer reviewed at a 9/10 at launch.. i know that triggers you but that's just the way it is..
And what i am stating is that if you believe that the multiplayer is a 9/10, then you must believe that BF2042 is also a stellar experience since day one, cuz it too got 9+ from a bunch of places.
Infinite is the most overrated title that we've seen in close to a decade. This is fact.
@dabear: I see you’re still in denial. That’s ok once you accept the fact the Xbox does not have a game worth owning the system for, I think you’ll finally see the truth. When even the top Xbox brass say their games are shit and you plug your ears a stomp your feet, eventually you need to ask yourself who is the real sucker here? Is it PS gamers who get to experience the best of the best, or Xbox gamers who are still in denial even after the bosses said halo is shit. It’s time to get a good nights rest so you can think a little more clearly tomorrow dear.
