umd is way better for these reasons.

1. you can look aroun for a cheap deal with download you have to pay that high price.

2. yuo can sell them when your finnished.

3. get preowned.

4. can lend and share with people.

5.looks good when you have a few.

5. download times are ages so have to download over night.

6.takes all your internet allowence downlooding.

7. much bigger catalog of games

the only thing i like about downloading is the portabillaty and being able to get games whenever you want.Plus load times of the stick.

Just to cause some debate, I'll respond to each of your points in favor of downloading:

1. PSN games are not overpriced. They reduce in price the same as UMDs do.
2. Why buy a game if you are going to sell it and take a loss? I only buy games I know I will keep.
3. Preowned is not a benefit. Sometimes the UMD won't work, it might be torn up or have scratches, and the manual/case smells like cigarettes or whatever.
4. Very true, can't dispute that one.
5. It does? I don't like clutter.
5. It took me about 6 hours to get 5 games. Not that long, really.
6. How so? If you're using wireless it doesn't, and if you use Media Go you can use the internet. In other words, it doesn't take up the internet.
7. Not really...I don't see PS1 games on UMD, nor do I see movies and other forms of media. Most UMDs coming to download, anyway.

Now, with download, you don't have UMDs to drag around, you don't have to drag manuals because downloadable games have digitial manuals included, and load times are faster.

BTW If you want to download a game, you can't findno cheaper price since you all download. With UMDs you can search around to find a game cheaper like if it costs $30 in one store, it may cost $25 in another.

UMD of course, unless you can rebuy the games on your internal memory for free in case it got broken or your go was stolen.

You ONLY buy games that you keep? Do you have a large collection by now? Those games from 3 years ago probably haven't been played since so why keep em if it's just collecting dust? It's more of a loss if you are holding on to something that's collecting dust, than selling it for future games to purchase or just for extra cash. PSN games can be overpriced, and don't reduce as low as UMDs do--I got God Of War for $5 at amazon before. You'll find great deals esp. during holidays or just in general. Preowned is definately a benefit---if the UMD doesnt' work, you can always return it, and if it has scratches, don't purchase it. Most of my games are pre-owned and never had a problem with the game or how smells.

As far as the PSP Go goes, yes I only buy games I know I will keep. I've played many Sony franchises before, so I know games like Twisted Metal, Tekken, or Motor Storm Arctic Edge have endless replay value, or games like God of War I know I'll want to play over and over again because I loved the console versions, etc. It's not hard to figure out what games will be keepers, just reading a ton of reviews, watching gameplay etc. makes the difference.

I don't have any games collecting dust because right now all I have is a PSP Go and a PS3 with 2 games. I don't game a ton. For the casual gamer like myself, and there are many, downloading games is fine.

I have to say both. With UMDs you can play imports and the games that'll never show up on the PSN. But with downloads, it makes playing games convenient because of no UMD swapping. So both.

Digital download ALLLLLL the way!!!! I'm so tired of shuffling UMD disks and digging around in bags to find games on long airplane trips, then losing them inbetween the seats... not to mention having to drive to a store to buy a game just to find out it's out of stock or constamtly listening to that UMD lazer motor going buzzzzz errrrrrr buzzzzzz errrrrrrr every few seconds cause it's reading data and blah blah blah.

I got my GO on launch day and it freekin sweet!!

Clearly most people prefere the UMD and I love going to Game-shops looking for/at physical games instead of just DL everything but DL is also a good thing when the phsyical copy is not available.

Downloading. I want my portable system to be portable whether I'm carrying 1 game with me or 20. For home consoles, I want the disc, but for the PSP, downloads are perfect.

I would just pick UMD because their is no reason to pick both, which is a waste of money, and downloading justs seems wierd. I don't no. PICK WHATEVER YOU WANT.

I want both available, but for me, digital downloads work out better than UMDs (on all other platforms, I want hard copies). One reason that's often overlooked is people like me who live in countries that aren't where they're really from. Here, everything is pirated. I was somewhat mocked for buying a PSP Go because you can't steal the games. If all titles were available digitally, then you can buy games anywhere in the world. This also has the side benefit of, if you live in a region where maybe a certain game is banned, your home region will still have it, allowing you to get it that way. But I don't deny the benefits of hard copies, such as reselling and shopping around. But for me, on a portable system, the most important is portability. And I really don't want to carry around several UMDs.

They both have their pro's and con's, so I'll stick with a combination of the two. Certain games that are difficult to find in store, or go on sale on the PSN, I will download. But nothing can beat the feeling of cracking open that new game case, reading the manual, and loading in the UMD.

UMD. I'd rather have something physical in my hands instead of having something invisible that can possibly get lost due to human error like the loss of a memory stick, frailing memory of a password, or Sony possibly messing up. I'd rather not leave it to chance...

Right, I'm happy with UMD's. I like being able to choose where I can buy a games based on where the sales are. I just feel more confortable with a physical copy with a game. I know that I may be sacrificing some portability with UMD's. But it's no big deal. I can aways buy cases to hold them in.

Most of the time I'll say UMD, but I put both because I've already downloaded 2 games (Prinny and Disgaea on sale) :P I swore I'd never download a game if they have a UMD version available, but at those prices I couldn't pass it up. Prinny is still going for $40 new if you're lucky enough to find a copy in stores, or over $50 online, and from what I've seen, Disgaea is running around $50 new online and I can't find it anywhere in stores either. At only $10 and $15 they were steals so I bought them. I've decided to change my stance on download vs. UMD from before where it was "UMD only", to "download if it's cheaper and easier to find".

I made this thread almost a year ago here, most people voted UMDs then, and it does not look like that has changed now, despite Sony releasing tons of more games on PSN

I personally prefer UMDs as well, I like having the game case and instruction manual, and I don't want to have to keep getting new memory cards to store games.

I do download certain games occasionally, though they are either PSN exclusives, like Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, or they are PS1 cla$$ics, like Final Fantasy VII.

UMD's won't do you much good if you lose your PSP either. When is the last time you had a memory stick die on you? The only time one died on me was after I pulled it out of the washing machine.... I don't really hear a lot of IPhone/iPod Touch users complaining about having to download all of their apps/games. UMDs were fine when they came out, but will go the way of mini DVDs, cartridges, and floppy discs. If you haven't noticed....the future is digital.
