Although the difficulty is at an unforgiving level, the game is still addictive enough to make you keep playing.
Gameplay – The gameplay in Battalion Wars 2 is actually quite simple. It's like a watered-down version of any war game you've ever played. It's unfortunate that there's usually a time-limit or lots of restrictions, and there unfortunately is no sand-box mode or anything that lets you just wander around and fight. You have to follow beaten paths or you'll lose, which is kind of boring after a while. The first few levels are kind of boring, but if you manage to bring yourself past the first levels without quitting, you'll enjoy the rest of the game until it starts to be way too hard, due to having to go back to the very beginning when you fail – that's right, there aren't even any check-points. Oh yeah, and I'd rather not read the objective after failing a mission if I've already read it, because that just wastes about 2 minutes of my life while it explains the objectives over and over.

Graphics – Battalion Wars 2 is no Super Mario Galaxy or Monster Hunter Tri, but the graphics are upper-middle class nonetheless. The cut-scenes are hilarious, though.

-----
Length – It's only got about 20 missions, and they're all quite lengthy, but the game itself is so brutally punishing that you have to be really patient to actually beat it.

-----
Storyline – It's not one of Nintendo's best stories, but it's alright. The beginning of the game feels medieval and kind of not related at all, but the hour worth of story in total isn't all that bad.

Sound – The sound-track is great at first and very catchy, but it gets old quickly and really annoying and repetitive.

-----
Controls – It's actually really easy to control most characters and vehicles, except the planes. What were they thinking when they put such terrible controls on the planes meshed with bad cameras? Boats and tanks are much easier to use.

Multi-player – The online multi-player, although limited to only one other person, is really fun. You pretty much just carry out objectives, like the main story.

OVERALL:
Battalion Wars 2 is definitely a great sequel to the GameCube's Battalion Wars, although it does have some issues with difficulty. I liked the game a lot, but I'm finding it really frustrating now that I'm far into it.
