Watch This Impressive New Batman v Superman Trailer

Warner Bros. releases a new trailer for its upcoming superhero movie today at Comic-Con.

Today during the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con, the film company not only announced a new Green Lantern movie, but also released a new trailer for next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The trailer sets up the story, which sees Batman and Superman on a collision course, and also introduces the nefarious Lex Luthor and secondary characters such as Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Overall, it's a pretty thrilling trailer--you'll see explosions, fight scenes, and drama--and I'm excited to see more.

Ben Affleck plays Batman, while Henry Cavill reprises his role from 2013's Man of Steel as Superman. Zach Snyder (300, Watchmen) is directing the movie, which opens in theaters March 25, 2016.

The only things I don't like about this trailer is Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor (god awful choice) and Aquaman. I have never liked Aquaman.

@JustPlainLucas:I don't like the woman they have playing Lois Lane. She's regular looking and almost 41 years old. There are a lot hot and younger women out there, that they could have use to play her and they decided to go with this one and is a complete mystery to me.

@angrycreep: Really? Sex-appeal only goes so far, I prefer that they chose her, its more realistic. Just look at transformers, i mean those women are models and would never find themselves in such situations. Plus I think she's cute.

I ended up walking out of the movie. After half an hour of watching Superman and Zod take it in turns to punch each other through buildings, I just assumed that Superman eventually wins and saved myself another 20 minutes of watching buildings collapse and blow up while waiting for the inevitable.

20 years ago it would have been awesome. Nowadays we're so used to seeing large scale CGI destruction, it's just not that interesting by itself any more.

@GreenMan: For a long time I have never been a fan of action movies that have sitting in a chair for 2 hours and barely have any action in them. Plus the fight scenes last less than a minute. More worst is the part where the fight scene consist of 2 or 3 punches when the scene is already over. You are completely exaggerated with the 20 minutes fighting scene. I think the fighting scenes in the movie were appropriate, they were not too long or too short they were right on target with them. I rather watch a good fight than watching a 10 second fighting scene.

@GreenMan: Its kinda hard to surprise with the end result in a movie based on a popular comic that everyone knows and has long history of movies and tv shows etc... There are other reasons to watch those kind of movies but the ending is definatly not one of them.

True, I guess my point was that the second half of the film was nothing but Superman and Zod beating the crap out of each other, when it should have been trimmed to a leaner 15-20 minute segment with better pacing across the movie as a whole.

I'll admit...I do not read comic books so I don't know all the history on Superman and Batman from that perspective. I have watched the Dark Knight movies and Man of Steel.

What will NEVER make sense is Batman getting his ass kicked and back broken by Bane but then in this movie an older Batman can hang with Superman? A guy on steroids who can't fly can beat up Batman easily but Superman will struggle with him...I just can't follow that logic.

I'll watch the movie but it's going to be hard to pretend Superman wouldn't wipe the floor with Batman easily based on the past movies.

@lamar310: The Dark Knight Trilogy was set in an an alternate universe where there are no super powered bbeings or fiction.

It's resembles the real world. Superman vs Batman is set in the DC universe hence anything goes.

Some of the imagery is heavy handed, but always open, and if they keep the story smart and true.... have hopes.

But seeing plenty of origin story footage gives me pause.

I always wondered why Superman didn't just fly into space and use his supervision and super hearing to find Batman then blast him with his laser eyes all the way from space?

Answer: Because Batman fans can't accept that reality, so Marvel has to make it a somewhat level playing field.

@jhcho2: I get what you are saying but I have a different angle. How can Batman get beat up and get his back broken by Bane but now an older Batman can hang with Superman in a fight.

Just based on the movies...Superman should win this fight in 3 seconds.

@lamar310: when batman took on bane in the bat cave [ from the classic comic , great read] .He took Bane for granted and thought he was just another big guy..While bane had been studying him for a long time..Bane knew everything about Batman while he knew nothing of him..Before the fight even started , Bane juiced himself up with venom and Batman just was not prepared for it..Hence the major ass whipping he took followed by a broken back....Later they would meet again but Bane would no longer be on the venom because it damaged him a little and even though Bane was very strong.. Batman was able to take him on and defeat him..Its not easy to beat the Batman unless you are super strong..In the movie Bane had no venom , was just a strong physical man who should have given Batman a hard time ,but not beat him and break his back.....That was just how Nolan made his movie..Read the graphic novel...Masterpeice

@lamar310: Because they are going into the comics for a lot of inspiration.If you notice Batman has an armored suit he used a similar suit to fight Superman in The Dark Knight Returns (even his ears look like that version.They put out an animated film of that storyline 2-3 years ago it's good stuff.

When does the impressive start? Zack Snyder is just another Michael Bay...all flash and zero substance. His films rank about a 3/10 on the intellectual scale and unfortunately a lot of people are fine with this. This is why we can't have nice things.

Edit - Also "the red capes are coming", is one of the lamest lines I've ever heard.
