While everyone waits for the leaked The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered to officially get announced, Bethesda apparently has another storied RPG getting a similar treatment in the works: Fallout 3. A new report states the post-apocalyptic game is happening but won't arrive anytime soon.

Industry insider NateTheHate2, who previously nailed aspects of the Switch 2 reveal, replied to a question on X about whether Fallout 3 Remastered was "still happening." The answer was that it's "planned but won't be for a while." There was no other info provided, such as what developer might be tackling the reported project. Fallout 3 originally came out in 2008 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Meanwhile, Bethesda Game Studios plans to make Fallout 5, though Todd Howard won't put "dates on anything." That's probably because the wait for more info on The Elder Scrolls VI has taken so long. Instead, for that fantasy-RPG franchise, players can look forward to the impending release of Oblivion Remastered, which has been heavily rumored and then appeared on the Virtuos website earlier this week. It's believed the game will launch next week, though no official confirmation has occurred yet.

Last month, a new update rolled out for Fallout 76 that finally let players become Ghouls. The online RPG saw a resurgence last year after the premiere of Amazon Prime Video's Fallout TV show. Actor Walton Goggins said in February that Fallout Season 2 "blows [the first season] out of the water." There isn't a return date for the show at this time.
