Wow, thats cheap compared to how much Microsoft payed just to get GTA IV to be multiplat. Its funny, because GTA V is going to be PS3 exclusive anyway. This is a nice price for Sony indeed.

Wait, wait, wait... didn't Motorstorm, you know, suck? Even my friend with PS3 said it sucked. They loved Resistance, loved Ninja Gaiden Sigam (lol old Xbox title), thought Heavenly Sword was okay, and they thought Lair and Motorstorm were just plain aweful (though they mentioned the exploding of vehicles was cool). We basically share console playtime, him with his PS3 and me with the 360, but we both know good games when we see them and we let each other know (Halo anyone). Why did Sony buy this company again? It's just... wow. You'd think they would do something like, I don't know, buy or partner with a company that made a... great game. This is just funny.

motorstorm was not THAT good...

Man, they got an awesome deal there. 550,000 copies of Motorstorm is all it took to repay that deal. Kenwright let it go for way to cheap.

kinglink2, obviously a fanboy. blu-ray is easily winning the console war, and motorstorm is graphically impressive and does have great gameplay as well.

Man, that's awesome. I couldn't tell you guys how much fun I had with MotorStrom, specially online. can't wait for MotorStorm 2.

currently working on DLC... because what we need is more Motorstorm crap and a sequal. Come on. motorstorm was a graphical feat, but it's hardly a great game. Sony just wants to show off the power of the blu-ray and the graphics now, but they don't realize the Playstation is slipping lower and lower. And blu-ray isn't "winning" like it should be.

i think motorstormis a good game, it can have a very bright future...

And to think Sony also bought Psygnosis way back. This Hetherington guy must be f****n' rich! I don't know why they never made a new sequel for Colony Wars though.

I think this is a smart move by Sony. They need to start buying some 2nd party companies if they want to have an edge in the HD console wars.

I guess these are the steps Sony has to take to get exclusive titles. I've been watching what Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have been doing and it seems to me that Sony has been fighting harder than anybody to be the best. Granted, you have to fight harder when you are on the bottom, but it looks like they might get back to the top if they keep throwing their weight (and cash) around.

MotorStorm sequel would be nice, but I'm really interested in a Resistance sequel. The ending for Resistance left so much unanswered...

@muff07: yes i know..hence i said that they didnt buy all of (Rare) it. Also people who say that the Wii is "full of fitness games" show that they have no idea what there on about. and i still stick with what i said, why buy out a company that made one half decent game...i mean why not try to buy out a bigger company or start to develop ways to just make the PS3 more attractive to gamers and mass consumers.

Imagine if Sony bought out Sega, or Ubisoft (as mentioned before), or even Atari and Shiny! (just kidding about those .. tee hee). Buying the former psygnosis team is no big deal, i mean, what other platforms have they made games for over the last 8 year? mostly Sony platforms. this is BAD news in a way, because now games like wipeout, etc, won't be able to reach as many people as they used to. If Sony keep up the mistakes they have been making - they would need to buy companies like ubisoft and sega just to keep interest in their ever-changing future-proofing console. This is great news for Sony fanboys - but, its kinda like retro studios being bought by nintendo - all retro have done is make games for nintendo anyways - But the difference is that Retro made multi-million selling titles, and evolution hasn't made a million selling title in years. I hope their new direction can give them the creative attitude that they used to have. Damn, I remember that all the best games used to have the psygnosis logo on them...

That actually seems sort of cheep. I think Rare cost Microsoft around $230 million. Also I'm surprised that Motorstorm 2 is coming so soon. The original Motorstorm was a lot of fun; there just wasn't enough content. Hopefully that'll be remedied.

I dont own a PS3 but good news for sony... If they want to beat X360 and Wii all Sony has to do is change the name to PornStation3..... and focus mainly on storage of BLUE FLICKS. :)... Sales would be off the charts and would prob set new records LOL :)

I don't think Motorstorm was genius, but I pity the fool who says it's not extremely entertaining to play. I do think that the studio can create some great things and the franchise (much like Resistance) will really blow up with the sequel.

@pixelsword: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Forever Blue, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, NiGHTS, Disaster: Day of Crisis, and Project H.A.M.M.E.R. aren't fitness games, are they? Bungie will still focus on Microsoft consoles.

Don't own a PS3 but sounds like good news for them, good for Evolution, wish them the best! Figure out some tricks with that PS3 damn you!

Well Motorstorm still in my oppinion has the title for best graphics on console, they were amazing. Gameplay was superb too. Only thing they need to work on is adding more content and split screen. This may seem like a lot of money but Sony will make this back by the time Evolution release their next title as most of the profits now will go to Sony.

Hardly news is it. Not like we're going to see any great games coming from them. Motor storm 2? No thanks.

i dont like motorstorm or WRC so i would not pay £16 for that company...however i guess Sony need all the muscle they can get....i just view Motorstorm as the new wipeout.
