Amused at the entire ME trilogy being the same price as DAO by itself.

Great. European prices as always 2 times higher. Stupid Origin. That's why I will never buy games there.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Steam does regional pricing as well. This sale appears to be the same prices in Canada and the US. So good job to Origin on that one.

<< LINK REMOVED >> yeah, but each publisher dictates regional prices for it's own games, not steam. Some publishers are honest with their prices, some are not - they can go up to 50% higher than US prices.

But Origin...with it's prices... Especially Bioware games and their DLC, it never gets discounted and you have to buy those stupid Bioware points to buy that heavily overpriced story DLC (some of which were cut out from finished game anyway)

<< LINK REMOVED >> Knowing how the internet reacts to anything EA, even if the prices were exactly the same you'd have a different excuse not to buy from them anyway.

Be that as it may, when the prices on steam and uplay are at most 20% higher and on GOG the same, pricing games twice as high for Europe than the USA is moronic, customer unfriendly and a reason to not support the service ever.

I was tempted to buy the ME trilogy at 15 dollars but at double that much no chance. Also Origin, unlike steam, doesn't sell games bundled with their DLC even years after their release. I can find no indication that the dlc are on sale so I'm assuming I'll have to pay full price for them, driving the actual price of the trilogy, if you want the full experience, much much higher.

It sounds like you don't understand how demand and supply work. In short - demand drives any market. In the case of your market- the demand is great enough to justify increasing the prices. The prices in your region are high- because there is enough demand in your maket is high enough that people are willing to pay those prices. It is not stupid or moronic- it is quite a sound business strategy and is following the supply demand model perfectly. It sucks for you because you happen to be in a economic state that you simply can't afford these games at that price. Similarly for me (an American) cannot afford to stay in a Hilton Penthouse. I can't afford it- but it is not moronic of Hilton to charge that price . In fact it would be very moronic of them to charge less because demand would spike and everybody would be lining up to stay in the penthouse.

<< LINK REMOVED >> your example doesn't work here, the Hilton penthouse with other hotels there is a real difference to your experience from staying in one place or the other. but in games you are getting the exact same game whatever price you pay, so charging more for the same exact thing is moronic.

The Hilton example was actually pretty weak , I'll admit. But the fact remains is the reason Europeans pay those prices is because europeans pay those prices. The U.S. market would stop buying games at this price, therefore publishers keep them at "the sweet spot" to maximize their sales. In Europe, the "sweet spot" is about 20% higher for whatever reason. And therefore, publishers wod be foolish to lower their prices when they know Europeans are willing to pay more. It's actually really simple chapter one economics stuff.

<< LINK REMOVED >> So your saying the demand in the US is less than that of europe? And that you guys have less money than people living in europe that hence your games are cheaper? What a load of crap.
