Oddworld dev wants to remake Metal Gear Solid 1

Gamecube wasn't HD... But I'll admit Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was very nice to look at on the GS through..

Are you being serious or are you just being sarcastic and pretending like the one for the Cube didn't happen because you didn't like it?

@Deadly_Nemesis ummm, for the most part, yeah. A repaint would be great. I wouldn't mind the gameplay being updated to feel more like a modern 3rd person shooter... The first MGS is kind of hard haha.

@Jordon_p @lostn I thought the only thing inferior about it is the soundtrack. Everything else was the same or superior. Some of the voice acting was changed, but it didn't bother me too much.

There are ways to get around publisher ownership. I mean the Ninja Gaiden series was Microsoft published, and eventually found their way to PS3 by adding Sigma to the title and changing a few things. Mass Effect 1 was a game that would "never release" on PS3 because MS published it. It took a few years but it eventually did release on PS3.

If they do a remake, it would probably have to be a full on ground up redesign or reboot. They can't take the same camera angles and same buildings, objects and designs and just redo the graphics. The gameplay mechanics are not current anymore. Stealth has come a long way since MGS1. The MGS series itself has come a long way. And the game wouldn't play the same with a behind the back camera view. They would need to redo the whole layout of Shadow Moses to ensure the new changes don't break the game.

I personally would rather they reboot the whole series, changing the story and characterization. Start anew. Or he could always make a new franchise.
