New God of War in Development at Sony Santa Monica

Kratos is probably the most bad as character in gaming. Who else could walk into a bar and say, "Well yeah I ripped this God's head off with my bare hands...."

Personally I want to see how they can top having the levels being on the titans bodies. The scale was crazy.

Norse or Egyptian gods. David Jaffe did say his final vision for God of War was Kratos facing gods of all mythologies after he defeated all the greek ones so they can easily go that route.

I was just thinking the other day, this studio is a one hit wonder.

It's a glorious corner they've painted themselves into though.

.........Why? Why not jump to a different God of War? That's the benefit of not having a game with a protagonist in the main title. You're not exactly locked down with having a character required to be played.

Well, what about a sequel to War Gods?

Everyone is pretty much dead but a reboot sounds wrong. You reboot something that things it but not counting the prequel this series was on top. I just hope they don't do anything that leaves a bad taste in us fans mouths.

Let's hope for the Egyptian Mythology and Norse Mythology plot.

the puzzles and art style would carry well into pyramids and the desert

Even better, have it based upon Hindu deities with you overtaking Kali as the God of War.

I wish they would choose another mythology. Norse, Egyptian, or Roman would be nice.

I am all for new a new mythology. The ending of GOW3 did hint that it wasn't the end for Kratos, but it's hard to say where the hell they can take the plot after that cataclysm of events. Maybe they can get into some time-altering scenario or a war between gods of different mythologies etc.

GOW Ascension, although solid, still felt like a game that was kind of just going through the motions rather than carving an important experience.

I hope the reboot is based on Norse or Egyptian mythology, like how Jaffe wanted the series to branch out.

How disappointing. I thought it was a new IP. Going back to that well again.. It started out great, but they've totally killed any likeability the Kratos character had in GOW3. I no longer care about him or want to play any more GOW.

Hopefully it's Kratos Brother that will be the main character this time around ever since I saw the art work years ago, he was going to be in the future God Of War game.

Could we maybe get a God of War with a new character? How many games do we need to see Kratos mope about his family in?
