Racing game Need for Speed Rivals is now available to play through Electronic Arts' subscription program, EA Access, the company announced in a post to its official blog.

Earlier this week, EA announced that Need for Speed Rivals will be added to The Vault, a collection of games you can play for free with a subscription, "in the coming weeks," so its immediate release is a little sooner than anticipated.

Need for Speed Rivals joins existing titles Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Peggle 2, and Madden NFL 25. As previously announced, you can play these games for as long as you want, provided your subscription ($5/month or $30/year) remains active.

EA Access is available only on Xbox One, though Sony hasn't ruled out it coming to PlayStation 4 in the future.

For more on what markets EA Access is available in and data from EA showing how popular the program's six-hour trials are, read our coverage of the company's announcement from earlier in the week.

GameSpot gave Need for Speed Rivals an 8/10 for its gorgeous visuals and seamless integration of single- and multiplayer. Check out our full review, or watch the video review above.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Ummm...the hatred might not have anything to do with Sony. A LOT of people hate EA and their policies etc etc etc.... Not every comment on earth is M$ vs. Sony as much as you might like it to be.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Very true I think EA should die and the person who thought of Playstation Now fired. Renting is not the future of anything.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> This is my point it shows you guys that are putting down the EA access service know nothing about it.Your not renting games. Also alot of sony fanboys are hating it since sony was dumb enough to turn them down.I love it and its a damn great value.Since sony fans hate EA so much would love to see them stop supporting the playstation brand.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> You are paying money for the pleasure of playing the game for a set time. If your subscription runs out you can no longer play the game that is the definition of renting. Netflix is renting. Using a shop to rent games is renting. Taking books out of a library is renting. EA Access and Playstation Now are renting.

Most of the renting services in my city are gone, completely, for good reason. No one rents games any more.
