Midway XBLA games pulled

Im guessing midway wanted more money or somthing and microsoft said get bent.

This is a sad day! =( Its a shame when a company that made so many good games goes away like this, still hoping Warner puts the last of Midway on track and make a new awesome Mortal Kombat game

Out of the games pulled, Smash TV is without doubt the best. I'm glad I still have the demo. :D

@skabb15 People here have a tendency to read the sentence under the title and then just go straight to flaming whoever is making the news, or each other. There seems to be a lack of people that actually read the articles. So, as an experiment I would like GS to write an article with a bogus title and see how many people start a flame war about something that isn't true or fact. I think that would be hilarious. Back to topic... I am saddened to see Smash TV make a ninja move off the Marketplace, as that was one of my favorite arcade games growing up, and I never got around to dropping money on it, for some reason. Hopefully, it makes a comeback sometime.

Thats one Of The Reasons that i dont like Digital Downloads and Game DLC.I Like Digital Download Just For Rent Games And Movies Thats All. Music I Dont Care I Always buy the Music Digitally and I Do Back Up Copies.

I think some of these are coming to Arcade, aren't they? I guess that's why they removed them.

Thank goodness I have a PS2 and the Midway collection. This is like announcing that Moby Dick or Huck Finn will be out of print. I think I hear Mark Twain rolling over in his grave. :) Knowing the way Microsoft does business, they'll bring the collection back at twice the price.

I wish they make a compilation like for the last generation consoles called Midway Arcade Treasures game, just have them in volumes or something on disc not downloads!

I previously purchased Double Dragon on XBLA, and it will no longer let me even play it or re-download it.Looks like Midway games are going the way of the dodo.

Bummer not being able to get Smash TV or Robotron 2084 anymore, the only one of these games I have is Defender.

@monson21502 You can re-download anything you already purchased by going to the download history section in your profile. You can't download it through the arcade section anymore though.

I think what pisses me off MOST is that I have a harder time playing my Midway Classics game on the 360 from the original X-Box which has all those games already anyway. I can't play any of the Midway Classics collection, which makes me very suspect. It's not listed on X-Box's website of available backward games: << LINK REMOVED >> Coincidence? I think not.

I agree. Mortal Kombat wasn't that great. I was never big into it back when it came out. I was still playing SF.

@Rasenganfan2 Mortal Kombat is a garbage series that rode SFII's coattails and wouldn't have made it beyond MK1 if violent games were less controversial back then. All it pioneered were several, even worse SFII clones.

Honestly, everyone post if they ACTUALLY bought these games.

Well at least I got four of their games before this happened, though I'm not sure Joust was such a good investment, and no one else seems to want to play Smash T.V. online.

Everyone is quick to blame MS. Midway probably wants more money for the licenses since MS is releasing the Game Room feature. I could care less about these games. They weren't that great anyway.

So I'm still unclear, those of us who already have the games, will we be be able to play them co-op/against other owners of those same games? Or is the networking feature being dropped too? Or has MS screwed us over again by removing features....AGAIN

Oh, give me a freaking break. Those games have been around since launch. If you have not already bought them you weren't going to so let's stop with the whining already.

Hmm, see I was thinking they should ADD some more games. There was that first Mortal Kombat game that was pretty popular in 1992 that has yet to be properly brought to console. There's always something messed up. But I guess removing things works too. See, downloadable stuff is nice but this is another reason why I like physical games. You can always find a used version or something and no company can just remove it. The worst they can to is stop printing it, but as long as Ebay and such are around, you can get a copy. Even if its at a steep price.

I'm thinking they pulled the games for now so they could be re-released under Microsofts new "Game Room" thing that they are going to push out later. That way people will have something to plop down 50 cents to play.

@Darkmoone1 Shadow complex is only 1200 points. BF 1943 is on sale for 800. They have a ton of games if you don't already have them.
