Leaked Watch Dogs PC specifications state 64-bit OS requirement

Ubisoft's "ultra" specification for Watch Dogs on PC also asks for an Nvidia GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7970 graphics card, and an Intel Core i7-3930K or AMD FX-9370 processor.

Watch Dogs will require PC users to be running a 64-bit operating system, leaked system specs for the game suggest.

No Caption Provided

The specifications, which popped up briefly on Ubisoft's Uplay store before being taken down, were archived by NeoGAF, detailing the 64-bit OS requirement alongside the need for 20GB of hard drive space and minimum, recommended, and "ultra" specifications.

The game's minimum specifications require a DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB RAM, a quad-core CPU, and 4GB of system RAM. The recommended specs are a DX11 GPU with 2GB of RAM, an eight-core CPU, and 8GB of system RAM.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft's "ultra" specs for Watch Dogs recommends over 8GB of system RAM alongside an Nvidia GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7970 graphics card, and an Intel Core i7-3930K or AMD FX-9370 processor.

Ubisoft will released Watch Dogs for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on November 19. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will also be available at launch.

I think if my $700 video card DOESN'T give me kick ass graphics over the XBOX One ($499) or PS4 ($399) I would be some pissed on principal alone... not to mention the cost involved with the rest of the system.

Oh and by the way, in Canada, PC version of Watch Dogs (best graphics) $59.99 ...Console versions $69.99 Figure that shit out ?!? Paying more for less...

The game will most likely require 64 bit(who games on a 32 bit os anyways) but these specs are fake so don't panic. http://www.videogamer.com/pc/watch_dogs/news/leaked_watch_dogs_pc_specs_are_not_official_says_ubisoft.html

I'm starting to wonder: How the hell that something, which CAN be played on a console that came out in late 2005 (meaning that its processing unit was designed and upgraded during 2003 and 2004) now wants the latest generation of computer processors to run? WTF? But seriously: WTF ?!

@Pelezinho777 Because the consoles are being run at the lowest graphic setting possible. No anti-aliasing is a huge hit and makes the game rather unsatisfying to play.

PC Master race.

@Pelezinho777 @Burrtango Yeah, they're using i7. Watch dogs was the most impressive games when shown off at whichever expo it was revealed at; it was beautiful and open-ended. This game is obviously extremely heavy on the CPU side (as most new "next-gen" games are going to be.) Why are you complaining? They made a game that looks good and pushes the envelope of gaming rather than use the same mold for a "new" game. I mean, to me it sounds like you're the kind of guy who's already pre-ordered CoD: Ghosts, who doesn't mind when a video game developer doesn't try to go all out and create the best thing they can, it seems like you enjoy it when Actigreedy takes another $20 from your bank account because you have to have that new map pack.

I avoided your question on ultra because it sounds sarcastic, but whatever: Ultra would in fact be at least 1920x1080 8-16AA @60 frames. In fact, keeping 60 frames is impressive. Playing on ultra is a bit of a pissing contest, I remember when my friends and I first began to build our good rigs back when crysis 1 came out. It was like a competition to see who could push their GPU to the max to play crysis on the highest settings.

So yeah, if you want to complain about specs go play on a damned console, enjoy your 30 frames no AA, "low-medium" graphics settings, having to pay to play your games after you've purchased them, and getting banned for modding your game in any way.

no 32 bit indicates that more than 2gb addressable memory will be used. But 8 core CPU ???? intel has no 8 core cpu on desktop . i dont count virtual cores as real cores, but i guess Ubi does. But this is leaked , and probably bogus

@Blackburn123 @Loufadoros Why would you buy a PS3 to play this game? Not worth it. Terrible graphic quality and no anti-aliasing makes the PS3 a terrible choice for this game.

In fact, PC and PS4/Xbox One only for "next-gen games". Don't waste your money straining your eyes to try and play this game on a console. Save it and spend $600 building a proper gaming PC that yes, will in fact handle this game. Just need to know what to purchase and at what price.

I don't care about running games on highest settings, as long as it looks as good as the console version i'm happy, and i know for a fact my PC can handle at least that.

my rig can handle this on ultra, but it will undoubtedly require the cancerous uPlay. After Farcry 3 and Blacklist, I'm done with Uplay.

Hopefully it has the looks to justify the specs recommended. I'm not as excited for watchdogs but it does look interesting.

@G-Ninja

Probably not, unfortunately, unless you don't mind a lower framerate. The Sandy Bridge-E that is recommends for "Ultra" is a 6 core (12 thread) CPU, and it recommends "more than" 8GB ram (which is graciously specific of them, lol). Your GPU is 2GB, which they don't mention the requirement on the GTX670 or AMD equivalent. Seems to be like a CPU hog, much like GTA IV was. There's no doubt you'll be able to play it with much better quality than on the 360/ps3.

We'll have to see about the "Ultra" after the real specs are released (and whether, or not, it's worth it to upgrade for that level of detail, if rigs like ours aren't able to handle it), as I'm wondering whether to get a 2nd 2GB GTX680 for SLI, or a ps4 (for all next gen games, not this one in particular). I have an i7-960 overclocked, 8GB RAM, and an SSD. I don't want to miss out, but I can't afford to upgrade everything in my PC for next gen, so a ps4 might be the way for me to go, sadly.

"quad-core CPU", "eight-core CPU"

Game developers should stop with this bullshit. CPU performance isn't defined only by the amount of cores it has.

@everson_rm don't worry an i7-4770 (k or non k) will chew through this game (the cpu'son next gen hardware are pretty weak...), in fact, an i5-4670k will probably be more than enough...
