Deus Ex: The Fall launching on iOS this summer

Looks impressive for an iOS game. I told you idiots that iPads are better than PC, but NO ONE LISTENS TO ME!

Seriously though, as nice as it is to play on a screen that I can hold inches away from my face, I prefer physical controls to play something as intricate as Dues Ex that involves first person and stealth mechanics. I have a hard enough time playing normal FPS titles on my iPad, god forbid you play it on an iPhone. They definitely need to consider bringing it to do Steam at least.

Incredibly disappointed. Just when we thought we'd get a fully fledged Human Revolution sequel, they give us this. :( More like The Fall of Deus Ex...

First they get my hopes up by mentioning the coming of a new Deus Ex game. And then it turns out to be a tablet game....even worse an iOS game.

I actually just joined this site as a member after 10 years of simple lurking just cause I need to vent my anger over this! Although the game will probably be decent for mobile standards, this is not what anyone was waiting for and games on a tablet or smartphone are just never as immersive as one on pc (okay and maybe consoles too a bit :p ) and it's just the immersiveness that made all deus ex games great... And for the love of god, if you so desperately need to make this game, at least give us android users a break too! This is a real slap in the face ffs.

If Square Enix's Mobile strategy is to give us new games in our favorite franchises while we wait for console sequels, then I am fine with it. And I will buy this game. However, if their strategy is to make free to play games with manipulative pricing and expensive pay walls, I will ignore it all. Your choice, Square.

Getting excited when I saw the teaser announcements then I read IOS. Not really excited anymore.

Seems like this is a fitting name for the game.

Just because this is being announced and released for tablets doesn't mean they aren't building a new console/PC title.

Gaming is a big opportunity on tablets and its not bad for experienced game companies to release these micro-games on tablets. They are bringing quality gaming to a platform that is seriously lacking much outside of quick-fix and social games.

Android's fragmentation is the main reason that version isn't out YET. surely there will be an Android version within a year. From a developer perspective iOS costs less to build for and has a higher ROI. It makes more sense to start with iOS and then port to Android.

I am truly disappointed. I was hoping for a full featured pc and/or console game. Hope that it turns out to be the greatest "app" to ever grace the ios..

Err...I was hoping for a real game, not something to pass the time in the outhouse.

Looks pretty good... For a tablet game

A lot of people complain about controls of FPS games on tablets. I find the controls in games like N.O.V.A and Modern Combat to be pretty good. But i do recognize that these controls can be sloppy and I think the games are easier because of it.

Haptic feedback is the best solution for tablets. Though it will probably be a few more years before consumer products start getting it.

Def looks like $7 worth of game. I'll prob buy it on sale for $5 or less at some point this year.

This is why you're failing Square Enix! I was so looking forward to the unvailing of a new Deus Ex game and when the announcement arrives it's this rubbish? Lost yourself an easy sale there, and I can imagine many more too!

Uggg, I hate playing shooters on our iPad. The on screen controls are always sluggish and hard to hit properly. There's no way to tell if you are on them correctly without looking due to no tactile feedback. The iPad really needs an attachable piece of control hardware or a dedicated blue tooth controller. I know there are already a couple of controllers but they only work with specific games. There's nothing available that is an official Apple product that all the developers can design their games for. Either that or they need to add mouse support. We already have a keypad and those work just fine. Mouse and keypad would be 1000% better than those on screen controls.
