Call of Duty: Black Ops soundtrack detailed
Sean Murray of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Crime Streets of LA, and World at War records "dark symphonic" score for upcoming shooter with 80-piece orchestra.

In less than one week Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops will invade retailers worldwide. The shooter will feature a celebrity voice cast, but that's not the only Hollywood connection the game will have.
Publisher Activision today announced details on the Black Ops soundtrack. Composer Sean Murray, who scored Call of Duty: World at War as well as True Crime Streets of LA and the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has returned for Black Ops.
In addition to naming the composer, Activision announced that the soundtrack will go on sale beginning November 9 priced at $11.99 for the entire 30-track release, and individually at $0.99 per song. The soundtrack will be available through iTunes and other digital distribution houses and will not be released on a physical medium.
The soundtrack for Call of Duty: Black Ops was recorded at the Warner Bros. Eastwood Stage in Los Angeles. Films like Disturbia, August Rush, and Watchmen were recorded there, as well as the video games Dark Void, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Medal of Honor: Airborne. Further, the "dark symphonic" score was recorded with an 80-piece symphony featuring "leading" Hollywood musicians.
Call of Duty: Black Ops comes to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, and PC on November 9 worldwide. For more on the shooter, check out GameSpot’s Now Playing segment (below), which shows off an hour's worth of the game's multiplayer.
