I'm certainly no graphical buff, but if you have a fully upgraded PC and don't care much for achievement points, you should definitely opt to purchase the PC version. I personally don't currently have the money to purchase it, but once I do, the first thing I will get will be BioShock.

Bioshock freezes every 10 minutes on the 360, wtf. It shouldn't have gotten a high score at all.

Doesn't matter if you'd get it on PC or 360 (got mine for the 360 btw) It's a must-have anyway, so go buy it! :)

You're going to need a computer twinked out my God himself to get awesome, and I emphasize awesome, frame rates on the PC. I'm going 360 because I do not have at least 800 bucks to dump into a computer for 1 single game. Good info as always Gamespot.

Hey, look at all of the X360 fanboys here! Everyone who posted good things about the PC version got negative feedback, lol. That's no suprise, as those who said good things about the XBOX version have positive feedback. Does that mean that more people are playing Bioshock for the XBOX then? :P

I played the demo on my pc with an atholon x2 4800, 2G of ram, nvidia 7950 and an x-fi. No problems, looks sweeeeet, sounds creepy as hell and has a very good sustained frame rate with most of the settings maxed. So the vote goes to the PC, considering I have recently expierienced the red ring of death on the 360. AHHHHH %$#$%^.

I play my PC and Xbox360 games on the same 42" Plasma, and I have to say, while the PS version allows for higher resolution, unless you have Vista, the Xbox360 version is much more atmospheric with its particle effects. And yes, I have a near top of the line PC, Core Two Duo 2.4 8800gts 640MB, 2 GB RAM, surround sound with Sub. I also have not experienced any performance issues with the 360 version, perhaps I am just lucky. Either way, this is one of the best gaming experiences of the past 25 years.

"+ Standardized console hardware guarantees performance levels" This is nonsense. BioShock performs differently on all Xboxes, because of the varying degrees of build qualities across the XBox360 spectrum. I was worried that BioShock would be laggy, freeze, etc., but my new replacement box played it fine, without a hitch. This is not the case for all Xbox owners.

Btw enesjusufi FPSs are not neccessarily best on PC 100% of the time. With pads you are able to react a little quicker and to the more experienced console player analogue sticks aren't really that bad. Sure 'limited' sound is up to you but it is crystal clear to my ears.

I've played through the game twice and I didn't really notice any problems on the Xbox 360 version really, the loading times weren't amazing but then again it'd only be once or more a level/chapter.

In the end any game with the high production values as Bioshock will look better on an high end PC I think. But... As an (low end) Pc and Xbox360 owner I am impressed by the graphics that this console produced on my small television and most important the great game experience. I think that is what matters at the end. While gaming I won't compare -lets say:- the wall textures with the sharper ones of the PC version and it won't interrupt my gaming experience in anyway. The Xbox360 version is worthwhile the money if you can't afford the high end PC right now but in the end I will go for a PC.

Just finished Bioshock on my X360 and CRT TV for the second time (just to get the achievement points you understand.. ). It looks good, plays well, no hitches, no sound issues.. maybe I got the only good one? lol. I work with PC's all day long so when I get home I just want to flick on and play; no installing, no driver downloads, no upgrading, no screwdrivers lol. The X360 suits me just fine BUT for anyone with an (almost) unlimited budget and the inclination to constantly upgrade, an Uber PC !should! always thrash any console performance. I say again.. !Should! :-)

FPS Games = PC Why? You need something called "Mouse"... and something called mouse mat for best accuracy. Overall, ALL games are better on PC... I know you are trying to protect your Consoles, but a computer lasts FOREVER and you cant compete with Computer Technology, gaming experience is much better... a Simple Soundcard can cost as much as a Xbox360 / PS3 and thats how much better the sound is aswell.... If you have MONEY and want the best Experience in absolutely EVERY department, get a PC.... Sports / Fighting Games = CONSOLEs WHY? Because its faster approachable and is just better gameplay with a handcontrol sitting next to your friend in a living room....

I will probly upgrade my PC 4 or 5 times before the next X-Box is released, PC also has better game support and features. In 6-12months all consoles will be garbage all they have is the game play which is a big bonus for a Wii. Nintendo has its own exclusive titles why does Microsoft have to keep degrading PC games for X-Box? AMD are crap.

i can explain this much easier than gamespot. If you are one of the 1% of pc users that have a 7800 or above, and at least a dual core cpu, then the pc version is best. If you have anything less than an uber-PC, the 360 version is the way to go. it's that simple, to be honest.

i love how theres a ton of technica issues with both versions, which version should you buy, neither, if youve got the will power, why not wait a month or two, and then get a great experience the first time you play the game

I like my PC version....., I strongly believe graphics are in the eye of the beholder......pc vs 360 vs ps3, etc......means nothing to me, it's the GAME that counts....I do not own a high end machine and will not spend that type of monies in order to play a game. My rig will be upgraded somewhat, but not to any extreme, it's normal three year upgrade. There is too much back and forth about platforms, my PC has played all the worthwhile games, without any problems(a few sound playing BioShock) none playing FEAR or any of the other's. I learned a long time ago RAM makes the game go round, not all the fancy stuff, RAM is the key, plus a little help from your CPU. I suggest that we all just play on!.

I don't understand how people can say the PS3 bankrupts you! lol....the PC however can do just that if u want to keep up with the upgrades needed for new games. I have a pretty decent PC, and XBOX 360 and a PS3. After gaming in HD with a proper set-up you really appreciate the fact that there is no upgrades needed to play this new game on your console. I am just tired of dishing out money every 6 months to a year to upgrade just so I can get decent fps on a game...yes u can play it at lower settings, but what's the good of that? If I am going to experience the newest game on the market that is SO great I want to REALLY experience it!

blackbaron, right now the ps3 graphics are not better than the 360's. Me and my friend bought a few games that are on both machines and the 360 has a little better graphics right now. Thats not to say that the ps3 has more power than the 360. And i'm not a fanboy of either machine, i own a 360, my friend owns both and has a 1080p tv.

The amount of optimisation required to get Bioshock to run well on 360 means that PC users have benefitted by being able to run it on lower spec machines. Apart from the horrific installation issues for the first few days I'm very happy with the PC version

I tried the demo on my PC, athalon 3000, ati 9550, runs like ass. So for people like me how don't really feel like upgrading our computers constantly the xbox 360 is a perfectly natural choice.

I've got a $600 PC with an entry level dual-core E2160 processor and Bioshock runs just fine!! I also have a poor graphics card (8500GT) yet I have no problems. Mass effect is still the only killer app which would convince me to go 360 at the moment. But I could also o/c my CPU and spend the cash on a sweet 8800GTX instead PES7 and GTA are both coming out for the PC and with the mod scene will be far superior to their console counterparts. All my kit's wireless too so it's displayed on my 40" LCD TV

THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME EXCEPT 1 THING, the xbox 360 version is running at 720p and has occasional lag issues. the pc version can run at 1536p at 60fps or more(you cant tell after 60fps) and have NO lag issues. but if you dont got the money to spend on a high end pc, get the xbox 360 version, but if you want a true hd performance at 1080p or higher ( yes there is higher for those of you NON-techies, for years now) get the pc version

ok i agree with the users that say they look the same ect ... dont make this about whats better pc, 360 or ps3 it dont matter. Thats just sad , get a girfreind (that isnt ugly or your mum).. and find something that actualy matters to waffle about. WE ALL KNOW PS3 HAS THE BEST GRAPHICS BUT NO GAMES, XBOX HAS AMAZING ONLINE FEATURES AND PC IS ALL ROUND AMAZING AND UPDATEABLE.... SO STFU!!!!! .. what one is best is up to the user not someone on a oposing system.. so write about how you feel about bioshock, this review and the differences between the 2 versions the only difference i can see in the pictures is when you look out the window into the water the windows dont ripple on oposite building, but this might just be to the timing in the screenshots? i dont know ? ive played it on the 360 and i thought the graphics whre absolutly great , they where so good , if you want better then you must not be too interested in gameplay. I played it on a small tv that wasnt hd and it looked amazing anyway! this article makes a mute point ... just play the game on what ever you got dont be pushed into thinking the game looks amazingly different on either they both look awesome! i found this article a waste of time

"THE XBOX 360 AND THE PC are friends..." We get badly ported consolised games and get treated as a secondary milking platform, they get their mits into long running PC series, wonderful partnership...

"This game runs well on either twin 7950 Go cards, or one 8800 with atleast 512, this game is actually pretty demanding in graphics" You need to get your rig checked or consider your settings, I maxed it fine with far less than that.

This game runs well on either twin 7950 Go cards, or one 8800 with atleast 512, this game is actually pretty demanding in graphics, and as most people actually cant afford ridiculous pc prices, i recommend the xbox 360 version, you get more fun out of it, achievement points, and if you have a HD set up it's awesome.

I think they should add if you have a computer that can handle it perfectly that it is a better game then the 360 because it doesn't freeze....

You get a much better framerate on the PC version if you have a modern PC -- you're stuck with the 20 frames per second you get on the xbox.
