Activision uncloaks Transformers sequel

"I'm hoping the new movie focuses more on the Transformers and less on the humans... Seriously, I would have cut out like half of the first movie because of all the human interaction." Thank you, Rockman, I thought I was the only one that felt that way. I'm a old school Transformers fan, and I have to say that is one of the reasons I never rushed to watch the movie....call me a 80s anime purist. Only the actual battle between the Transformers matter to me--I could really care less if there were any humans in the movie.

Well... it could be good if they really wanted it to be. I mean think about it, you're a Transformer! Oh well I guess it'll always sound better in writing.

some developers just dont get it. I played the first one, is crappy... but the concept is good . hope they get it right or it will be just like need for speed failure.

The first game was a heap of crap. My god, I forced myself to progress into the later levels hoping the game might get better, but the opposite was happening. I hope no one gets the next game, even the transformers fans, coz activision is doing the game again. The thought of that game gives me nausea. And online multiplayer? What the....?

The first TF game wasn't THAT bad. The Blackout, Statscream & Megatron levels were all fun. The problem was, all the car based TFs played exactly the same, and it got old. But it was a solid $30 purchase that I had fun with.

Y'know, the game based on the first movie i thought was actually not bad at all.It was actually fun to play amazingly enough.This one will probably be about the same.BTW the movie is going to own SO hard it's sooo not even funny.

@rayrayob I was thinking that the game based on the first movie would have been good it Activision focused on making it a multi-player brawler. Lets face it when the first movie was announced we didnt go to the theater expecting life and death war over the all spark. We just wanted to see some car chases and giant robots fighting each other.

A transformers game is somewhat possible, but it's freakin' Activision. Go watch the movies, you won't find them to be this bad.

I hope the game improves better than the last time (which was a "Twitching translation" games). If Activision SCREWS this game, they will feel the wrath of the Transformers fans.

Blah, the first game sucked. I wouldn't be surprised if the second one does too.

Looking at the developer's past, I think I'll pass. I'll be surprised if this game is any good. The first one, although it was a different developer, was terrible in of itself.

The movie was awesome and the game was HORRIBLE!!!! I sincerely hope the game is better, but hope even more that they don't tank the movie, cause I would rather have a great movie than a great game.

Personally I loved the movie. I am a huge transformers fan. The game was indeed on the low end for quality video games. But there is always hope that they can fix this. More than likely though, they do not see everyone's reviews and will go mainly on their sales number. Who knows, maybe they will see that they need to fix their game the next time around.

I still don't know if I'm going to see the sequel given as how much I hated the first one. Too much face time for Shia and the other actors, and the Transformers seemed to be just added in. As for the game, my hopes aren't high. They know the audience that will pick this up, and not care about quality or anything. I'm hoping they take it more seriously this time around.

Well, here we have another movie-based game.....yeah. :| It defeats the purpose to say to consumers not to buy into this mess; as most consumers are not gamers. Sadly, they don't have same knowledge that many gamers would in being able to tell the difference between a quality or crap game. Which this is exactly why crap like this sell boatloads.....and unfortunately this what will keep this crap selling.

I wish Michael Bay would die. I hate his idea of a good movie. The first transformers was a combination of Bad Boys and Titanic but instead of two black dudes there were really crappy actors and robots, fighting other really crappy robots... instead of an iceberg. Shia Labouf needs to go the way of a plot in a Bay film... Pearl Harbor sucked!

@Sendmn23 It's not so much as a huge "payday", it's that the developers are rarely given enough time to make a quality game. They have a strict dedline to meet, and so generally quality=time given.

The movie was an awful chick flick disguised as an "Action Movie". It almost single-handedly managed to destroy my fond memories of the cartoons. Most movie inspired games are lazy bug ridden bores. I am not looking forward to either.

@sharpshooter188 man oh man oh man do you have it wrong! Developers take the easy way out with any game built on a license. To them its just a huge payday, and its almost always going to pay off. They can crap in plastic bag put transformers logo on it and boom there you have it a craptastic video game that will for the most part give them a pay day. There is no realy passion that is going in a game like this. I think for me anyways the only movie based game I liked was Peter Jacksons version of King Kong, and thats because of Marcel ancel (I'm not sure if thats how you spell it.) He hired a true gaming developer with a real passion for games. You have to approach the right developer, just like in movies... you have to hire a team that cares.... which most developers wont do.... the same goes for Movies based on Video games.... the only one that was worth watching and was true to the gaming material was Silent Hill, and thats because Christopher Ganz is a huge fan of the game. Its just a easy way for a no name developer to make some easy cash......

I suspect most of the people who bought the previous game were either Hardcore Transformer Fans, or People who just don't know better. They were certainly not gamers, well at least most the gamers I know wouldn't waste thier money on the last Transformers game. I'll go watch the movie and show support to Micheal Bay and his team, and I know Transformers is going to be a great movie. The game on thee other hand is not going to be worth the disc its printed on.... The last game was aweful! You can take that to the bank. Oh little kids... and Mommies and daddies... "Buy me transformers, daddy.... pleasee!!" There you have your 75 million..... oh gawed why!!!!

This will be another tired, boring, cut and paste, no plot line crap game. Someone earlier wrote that all games based on movies suck and they couldn't have been more right.

The movie blew chunks, the first game blew chunks. I have no doubt that the sequel will be just as craptastic. Optimus Prime and BumbleBee were the only cool things about the movie everything else was crap.

I was very pleased with the movie, I was very nervous about it because Transformers was a big part of my childhood. The game was ok, I would ( like an earlier poster) like to play as the G1 transformers, can you imagine playing team deathmatch as Prime or Soundwave?

developers unaware that making a garbage game will hurt their reputation if its not good.

developers are friggen morons. I guarantee you they were simply approached by some company and said we'll pay you for making this game. They said yeah okay it seems like a *cough* good idea. the developers are only making the garbage because its income for them and their families. The people who think it is a good idea are most likely doing it for more promotions towards the movie or they truly are brain dead.

It's interesting that in the title they are already calling the movie a blockbuster, although it won't be out for another 5 months or so.

I just want a classic Transformers game, like a history of the autobots. You start as Alpha Trion then you fix Orion Pax to become Optimus Prime and battle the decepticons. I just want a game with the old Transformers that includes Iron Hide, Huffer, brawn, Wheel Jack, etc. Think I'm a Transformers geek?

The first one wasnt that bad i played it only because i coulnt wait for the movie to come out. Ill probably do the same with this one.
