Great, but with a few flaws.

X-Men Legends is an action RPG that lets you take a group of four X-Men and fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. There are alot of playable mutants and alot of moves to learn with them and use to fight making the gameplay better.

In X-men Legends you start out as Wolverine and you have to go through New York City and chase The Blob because he has just kidnapped a mutant. Here is sort of a tutorial, as when you wander the streets of New York there are several hints you can look at. After the first level you get more mutants to choose from and then you can plug in up to four controllers and have your friends play with you. Each mutant only starts out with one move, but you will gain experience to learn new moves fairly soon. You will notice a few characters are pretty much useless because their moves aren't nearly as effective as the other mutants, and you will notice Wolverine is unstoppable. Some mutants such as Emma Frost are horrible and have no good moves. The mutant Psylocke is unlocked very late on and you barely get to use her, I think they should have added a New Game + to let you start over with all of your skills and characters so you could use Psylocke more.

The sound is pretty good, when a mutant uses his or her powers the sound effects for them were well done. The normal music when you are walking around isn't amazing or anything, but it fits the game and does well. The voice acting in the game is done considerably good as well. In the game you will also hear Ed Asner as the Morlock Healer in New York's sewers, and Patrick Stewart also does a great job at doing Professor Charles Xavier as he had in the X-films

The graphics are probably the worst part of this game. They aren't that bad, but they aren't any good. They do have nice environments to traverse through and look at, and the cutscenes are ok. I just thought they could have done much better at putting the X-Men onto the screen. The graphics are good enough to find your way through the levels they just don't wow you at any level.

This game will last you a while. After you beat it the first time you will want to play through again to find all the extras, comic books and art etc. This game is great for any X-Men fan and the casual gamer should definitely rent this first as they might not enjoy enough for a purchase.
