World of Goo is quite possibly the best game of the year. You could even call it one of the best games ever made.

User Rating: 10 | World of Goo WII
World of Goo is a physics-based puzzle game developed by 2D Boy, an independent developer founded by former EA employees, Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel. The game finds you recreating a world by building large structures using balls of goo. From creating bridges to building large towers and setting structures on fire. The innovation in this game is brilliant.

Game Play: 10/10

Basically what you do is build triangles of goo which link and form different structures. It may sound rather boring but it is incredibly fun and addicting. The simplicity of the game play is what makes it so fun. The developers take this idea and make several different puzzles around it. The finished result is perfect. Each puzzle is separated into a level which are separated into chapters. There are four chapters of about 10 levels each and one epilogue which has 5 or so levels. There is also a level called The World of Goo Corporation which is a free roam level where you can pretty much just build a tower. After a while in the free roam level you will see clouds which show other players around the world and how tall their structure is if you have Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The game play is addicting and fun.

Visuals: 10/10

Although not a technical masterpiece the visuals are very bright and colorful. The artistic design of everything is great to look at and there isn't any graphical problems.

Music: 10/10

The music is very epic and is quite relaxing at times. It almost reminded me of the music from the Lord of the Rings trilogy for some reason.

Value: 10/10

For $15 you get a 10 hour long game with immense replay value. All of the levels are replayable and they added this thing called OCD which brings a greater challenge by making you do a level in less moves, time, etc.

Overall Score: 10/10

World of Goo is one of the most innovative games to come out in a long time. The amazing physics, humorous story, and addicting game play makes this more than worth the buy. World of Goo is quite possibly the best game of the year. You could even call it one of the best games ever made.
