A solid entry in the series

User Rating: 7 | Visions of Mana PS5

+ Solid combat that combines a lot of different playstyles

+ Good soundtrack

+ Good graphics, vibrant and beautiful looking world.

+ Exploration is interesting with the abilities you learn through the game.

+ Interesting main antagonist that has slight Sephiroth vibes.

+ Performance of PS5 is good.

- Voice acting is all over the place.

- The story feels like a copy of FFX without any payoff. The story also goes all over the place with a ridiculous plot twist about a quarter of the way through.

- I didn't like the cast that much.

-Pacing is all over the place.

Visions of Mana is a good game. It's not the best in the series and I liked Trials of Mana a lot more and even the Secret of Mana Remake had better pacing. Story-wise, I didn't care for it that much. It's not a bad story, it just feels like a retelling of FFX's basic idea without any of the tension or payoff. It does have a good villain, but the pacing was all over the place. If you play games primarily for gameplay there is a lot to like here, though because the gameplay is good and the world is very vibrant. At the end of it, I was glad that it was over and I don't see myself revisiting this one, unlike Trials of Mana, but it's still a good game, gameplay wise to experience if you like the series.
