Im a big fan of 40K/fantasy. Tried the trial, feel a bit dissapointed personally. I tend to stay away from MMO's. When it comes to RPG's i tend to play single player on my PC. When it comes to hack and slash games or FPS, i get with my buddies and have an xbox fest or go on my same buddies' server. MMO's are cool and all, but the amount of time you need to get somewhere or have that "OMFG this is so LULZawesome" is pretty intense. It's like a slow ride. That's the main reason i stay away.

If you were never familiar with Warhammer and if you have never read WAR army books or some other Games Workshop; Black library stuff... yeah, it's possible that you may not like this game... yes its 15 a month and warhammer has been around longer than warcraft has so they arent copying WoW and several other websites have their reviews of the game up and they are all great some even greater than WoW. Ive heard very little about this game that is bad, looks way better than WoW and ive got several 70s on uther server so yes i have WoW exp. Im getting this game for sure and sayin goodbye to WoW!

cool video! not into RPGs much but if they released a Warhammer 40K version I might consider it.

I have to admit, i bashed WAR a bit playing the beta. I wasnt impressed, seemed too much like WoW, all the stuff people have been complaining about. Now the game is out, and I wish i could take everything i said back. THis is an amazing MMO. By far the best that have come out yet. THe biggest, best thing about it, its fair. No one class overpowers another. You cant spend hours grinding and raiding and then run around wasting people just because your geared with purple. Try and go somewhere to gank lower levels, and get the cowards reward...turn into a chicken. You start out being able to rumble, and even at rank 1 (tech lvl 8 in rvr; it bumps you up) your a viable killer. Ive survived skirmishes at lvl 3-4 and come out as the top player on the rank boards. The game gets rid of all the complaints people had about WOW pvp, and adds so much more. I admit, if your not into PVP/ RVR, you wont like WAR much. Its based on it. Everything, EVERYTHING you do has an effect on the War between Chaos and Law (Destruction and Order) and it shows. Just get the thing, i gaurentee you wont be disappointed.

Jazilla, Warhammer's been around almost as long as Tolkien. To each their own, but all fantasy, written in books, made in movies or made in games are loosely based on Tolkien. You'll find it hard to find ANY modern fantasy that isn't. Besides, Warhammer's got gritty and dark nailed down, making Tolkien look like something only hippies could dream up by comparison. Not a bad thing, just to each their own.

Don't let the cinematic fool you, the game itself is bad. RvR sucks, castle sieges suck, PvE is repetitive as hell. The game just sucks. I wanted it to be good, but they failed.
