The past of gaming hardware is just as important as the present because the future does not look so bright...I don't have to wear shades.

Wow what a great vid I so wish I could of gone to that expo since my fondest memories as a young rascal were entangled in the 8bit and 16bit eras of Nintendo and Sega.

I love this stuff. Wish there would be even more exhibitions, because there are so many talented and creative people who grew up with and got inspired by games. I'm an artist too and draw massive amounts of inspiration from all the games I've played thhrough the years - often in a subliminal way.

Yeap, with better and better graphics we use our imagination less and less. That's why I prefer good art style to realistic graphics.

That looks very cool indeed.

I wish I could afford to have some of those art pieces on the walls in my house.

Oh how I wish...

@Ravi Pathak Double Dragon 3, my first NES game back in the day, it was USA version so I had to get my NES modded in the next day. But what a joy the co-op was with my little brother.

Loved the Commander Keen and Sinistar pieces. Zelda has a nice touch as well. Can anyone place the game @ 1:00?

Good times, when we owned the games we purchased instead of renting them from Microsoft.

This guy just spoke all the things I think and feel about the industry today. Gaming back then was so free to be whatever it wanted to be. The creativity, innovation, and FUN was and still is, unmatched to the gaming of today. I've felt for the last 5 years or so, that the decrease in new IP, and over abundance of FPS/generic game models, have left our industry feeling stale and forgettable. Nothing would make me happier, than to see this next-generation takes us back to what made gaming great in the first place. (I remember playing the level in Ninja Turtles, and everything he said about it rings true) Just think, maybe what Sony is doing with the Indie push, will start a movement to get us back to the gaming golden years some day through constant innovative indie titles!!!

Very nice video & art.

1 complaint though. Why is that 99% of retro art is always about nintendo. That's not how I remember my childhood.

So much more to retro game and pixel art & chip music than just nintendo. I get the feeling these are made by younger artists who know nothing of the many gaming platforms of yesteryear.

@Saketume Cause Nintendo is one of the biggest players of the Retro age and still survived to today.

I'm 36 years old the reason I still play video games is because I like to see the art in games.
