Start/Select - 3DS Sales, Dead Island Sexism Controversy

Dear developers! Stop apologizing to the low life organizations of the world who just want to be famous for doing "stuff and things"!

That's unfortunate about the sexism code issue but Dead Island still rules.

Oh man that was hilarious at the end when he kept messing up. That face,"FFFFFFFF-ehhhhhhhh!" Anyway,I'm glad the 3DS is doing well once more,it should help make some good games a reality,both 3rd and 1st party. I don't know why,but at the mention of the 360 I got the urge to hurry up and get that wireless adapter back from my friend and get back online for some connected gaming.

Ok,...... first off, who the hell cares that much about hardware and console sales, second, its hilarious that a big deal could be made out of something so minute but hey at least cool they tried to apologize for it i guess, and last but certainly not least, WHAT THE HELL is with every single game coming out nowadays having "massive day one bugs and glitches" i swear to christ its like they fired all the testers and now the consumer who pays $60 for the damn game gets to be the one to experience everything that's wrong with it and tell the devs what needs to be fixed. STOP RELEASING BROKE GAMES!!! Furthermore its not just Techland or whoever that's at fault even the bigger and better companies like Bethesda and others are massive culprits of this also and I for one, personally, am entirely sick and tired of it, that's also why I promote a strict policy of not buying games anymore until there are significant price drops, because second to saving money, by that time all the game ending glitches are USUALLY fixed and the game is in its final and more playable form once it hits around a $40-$20 price point. If they released games that worked on day one I would have no problem paying $60 for them, but that hasn't happened in many years.

It's all well and good that Techland publically apologized for the name of an old file they probably used during the alpha stage of the program itself, but can they at least release a game that doesn't require you to completely turn off and turn back on your xbox 360 everytime the scripting in the missions glitch? I've been keeping track of how many times I had to reset my system because of how glitch this game is, and it's near to 40 times in the full play through. Oh and let's not forget the infamous glitch where you modify the truck where it doesn't progress, then when you restart your system, it loads you 3 chapters ahead in the game. Yay for shoddy programming skills....

Eminem is still a platinum selling artist, but people rarely complain about his lyrics in the modern day. Kanye West and Lil' Wayne don't get much controversy either. Who wastes their time reading source code when they could be playing the game? I thought the whole point of spending $60 is to enjoy the game, not "read" it.

It's all about their image as a corporation; obviously is just a stupid word, but when it comes to investors and "how people sees us" it turns into something quite serious. That's it, there is really nothing more to it :)

So discipline a dev for generating buz around a 7/10 game whose marketting has been essentially to show well endowed female zombies in tiny bikinis having their arms hacked off. Yeah the feminists will be up in arms over a file name no one would ever have found without a hex editor.

Wow, that is what they made such a deal about in Dead Island? For one thing, it was part of a code that was never meant to be seen, and thus makes it irrelevant. For another thing it is fairly funny, plus it is the kind of thing I would name something as a personal joke, I name stuff on my laptop ridiculous names all the time. I'm also curious if any of the other characters had any racist references? I imagine even if they were there the feminists don't care, because they are only concerned about themselves...

I've worked on code with people who use obscenities for variable names. Pretty funny.

It might be bad news for Techland, but at least it gives me a reason to talk about Dead Island, which is absolutely fantastic. As far as the day one bug fixes, I haven't found a single bug yet, and I'm a good 15 hours in. What I have found, however, are hold your breathe, survival horror, OMG experiences with Dead Island. Seriously, being chased by multiple infected through the tight quarters of the quarantine zone in the city really gets my heart going. It's experiences like that which make me play video games. Great Job, Techland.

Eh, rather than price cuts and free NES games, why not release a decent non-ported game for the 3DS? Mine is collecting dust, here.

Lol well sure massive price cuts will sell more...but it does tell you where the state of the 3DS is, ie overpriced initially.

I don't understand why this "controversy" should cause such a buzz (I'm female, and quite a feminist, just not the kind that treats all men like enemies or wild animals.) It's not like the skill is actually called as such in the final product, someone was just bored enough to dig it out. In my opinion, getting offended by such term proves insecurity.
