Such a great franchise that EA screwed over because of greed.

Hmm. Dead Space to me is special, and... I'm not sure nostalgia is the correct word for it. It's the first game I ever bought with money from a job (my first job). I only got it because I heard it was supposed to be like RE4 and it was getting good reviews, but when I played it, I got about halfway through and decided I wasn't that into it. Months later I decided to just finish it, and it turned out to be one of my all time favorite games.

I played it again, and again, and again, and really until Dead Space 2 came out and even after. I loved it, and it's actually the thing that cemented my interest in sci-fi and science actually. I knew I liked that stuff before, but I don't really remember seeking it out as much before that, which come to think of it is kind of crazy to me. The entire series (be it game, novel, comic or animated movie) has its ups and downs, but still DS1 & 2 I played a bunch and have fond memories of. I still play them from time to time actually.

I was disappointed in three (and not due to the microtransaction kerfuffle), but I find it hard to not want to play that still.

Had fun playing DS, but it’s certainly not a nostalgia title for me. I enjoyed it, but it’s meh to me. I remember this title as being one of the first games which paved the way for the pay-to-win DLC model. If you didn’t want to gradually level up through the game, you could simply pay to have a fully leveled character right from the beginning. Not to mention special color DLC options (ie. skins) which were not obtainable within the game.

I certainly prefer this video series to that stupid Potato mode garbage and trash which is generated each week.

In the top 10 of my favourite games and probably top 3 in survival horror for me in general. I really wish another game would happen but that’s extremely doubtful.

Why do companies that make great games go bankrupt? Visceral Games and THQ that made Darsiders series all went bankrupt:(

@Sindroid: EA ruins everything they touch. Perfect example of how corporate greed erodes and destroys things that are cool. I’m very reluctant to play anything from them these days.

Dam+ I have all three and have yet to play them, guess I better get started. I buy my games in bulk and have little time to boot most of them.

I beat it for the first time a few weeks ago so I can say it's not nostalgia, it was a great game. The zero-gravity parts created some great tension without jump scares when you can be attacked from any direction.

Oh sweet, sweet nostalgia. I absolutely loved Dead Space and Dead Space 2. The third one was absolutely the weakest in the trilogy, though I did have fun playing through it with a friend (I don't usually do much cooperative gaming, so I got a kick out of experiencing the game with a buddy). Visceral just absolutely nailed the atmosphere of Dead Space and all the gameplay mechanics folded perfectly into that atmostphere, whether it was the way I constantly found myself desperately limping to the next checkpoint, struggling to make every shot of the very limited ammo count, or jumping when a seemingly dead necromrorph sprung to life, everything not only fit together perfectly but elevated the whole experience through synergy. As pointed out in the video, the diegetic depiction of things like health and the map totally contributed a great deal to the immersion, too. I would love, love, love a remastered collection of all three games. I almost never go in for the remasters but in this case I'd totally buy it.

@howlingfantod: I agree as long as the game was excellent but not every game need an remaster if it has not deteriorated to an point where the graphics is horrible, I also like to see the game from an different point of view in which it is no longer an remaster but an reengineered game.

Ah, Dead Space! One of the most overrated action games ever focused grouped into existence by a corporate entity. What's next, Halo? ?

Man, can't believe it's been 10 years since Dead Space came out. One of my favorite games of all time. Would love to see this series return. I'd even take a remaster of the original, or trilogy, but won't hold my breath.
