The thing I'm looking forward to the most is racing in the rain, don't ask me why, but I love rain in games. I'm also looking forward to driving around in the snow night, I seen a brief clip of the snow effects in action earlier, omg its beautiful.
I love how Drive Clubs world is alive, wind blows the fully-3Dclouds which effects the lighting/the sun, when the sun hits your wind-shield the light will scatter through the dirt you've accumulated whilst driving around, all manner of wild life are running/flying around, a certain stage has 1.2million trees in the background, each one unique and separate from eachother.
I don't believe we've ever seen this level of detail in a game, I can't wait!
I dont know, consoles are just not capable of the full package in racing games ... graphics, AI, physics
I wish devs would try to push the limits on PCs for ones
u need to watch this and compare, at least graphicaly ... its simply done by editing the config files of that game, no extra soft- or hardware - something the devs get their money for normaly ...
/watch?v=YFLUMp7J3E8
at the end is an awesome crash, u will never see soemthing like this on a console in the next 4 years
This game looks amazing but i am not happy with the kind of steering wheels available on sony / mcrosoft platform this gen i heard quality issues with thrustmaster and logitec had quit the console market. i am thinking of building a PC Rig for driving games with my g27 wheel. As for plug and play gaming i may buy xbox1 or ps4 so not really happy with all the exclusive racing games like driveclub or forza this gen.
Comparing this game and Forza Horizon 2 is just stupid. The two games are completely different! You could compare release dates, which FH2 would win; and you could compare graphics, which DC would win.
With the push for realism and high graphic fidelity in this game, the interior view looks like someone is using mannequin arms to drive. They could have done better in that regard.
Too many crazies not enough explaining, this comment section is loaded with lots of folks who do not understand how things worked and always have. The fact you guys are focusing on pushing the limits have no idea what you are even listening to. Everything has limits as you have no idea what it can handle since it's relatively new, when you lift weights you have a limit you can lift correct? What happens when you keep at it, you past the limit you had. Same thing with technology, it has inherent limits and absolute limits. Right now they are speaking about inherent limits as it's new and they are still learning about it, so it's limited since they have yet to maximize the console fully.
It's still a limit to what they can get at the time, now shut up about it.
Anyway, this game looks very pretty. I was not really convinced about it, but the more they kept speaking about the more I realized that they were shooting for immersion. He mentioned trees swaying, wind picking up, never actually experiencing the same conditions. Things like this belong in games like GT and Forza and PCars yet these game have ZERO atmosphere. If anything this game is laying a challenge, in your race setting at least build the game to reflect what you are trying to convey. Being a hardcore sim shouldn't mean that you have great physics, pretty cars and lifeless environments with no sort of presence...they all do it. Go to a race track like Silverstone in any of those sims and does it ever reflect what it looks like at Silverstone at a GT3 race?
Figure out what you are even arguing about, some of you guys are just plain ridiculous only following your favorite system and downing a game because it's not up to your mythical standards that you developed after playing a rival game on your favorite own system.
You Sony fans are colossal morons. Forza Horizon 2 runs at 1080p 30FPS. How long can you keep using this insult when it's not necessarily true for all games? You're just another reality denier.
What a tired and meaningless phrase. A PS4, just like a PC, has a limit to it's graphical and processing power. How can you push it's capabilities? Do you mean make full of the PS4, because you can't push the system beyond its limits. I hate this phrase, because it seems to appear every time a new graphically intensive game comes out. It's becoming hackneyed.
@Xmus942 Let me put it simple to you, graphic engines, they evolve and get updated to accommodate more LOD in games within the hardware limitations. For example. you will never run Destiny on a PC with PS3 specs, yet it runs on PS3, it doesn't look as good as the PS4 but it still runs. The engines allow the devs to optimize to the ground and make consoles run games that you would think will never run off 256/512MB of RAM. That's what console devs call "pushing".
Pushing the limits???? Of the current understood abilities of the system perhaps. Anyone remember the PS1 lauch game Ridge Racer?...... what about the Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo series towards the end of the life cycle of the console?
I think to be throwing around such comments at this stage is hilarious!
@arodmell It's still makes sense, it's pushing the limits. Just like when you lift weights to your limit and then weeks later you realize that wasn't your limit. Ugh internet.
@arodmell @SavageEvil It's still a hardware limit as the hardware is limited by software and hardware alike. Thing is you have to find the correct software to reach the hard limit. THere is an implied limit that on paper means certain things will max out here but software wise sometimes they can go beyond that which should not be possible. So in a way they have reached the limit of the current hardware/software setup, until it matures. Still means they are pushing the limits of what the system can do. They say this because it is true, doesn't matter that they can get better performance down the road, as of that interview...they are pushing the hardware limits, software limits not quite. So this is mainly the hardware grunt power without serious software led optimizations.
@Xmus942 @SavageEvil @arodmell You're quite dense, the limits they have today will not be the limits they have later on once they figure out the strengths. Same with a human, you have limits, until you reach it, you will break the limit you have at present, assuming you are working on it.
Not gonna lie it looks good but not sure if the game play is gonna be as good .. On top of that I was kinda looking forward into more of a open world racing game anyways so i think im gonna have to wait for TC in November
Really! We're pushing the system? We're PUSHING THE SYSTEM that hasn't been out for a year. The PS3 didn't get pushed by anything other than MGS, TLOS and GTA5, yet drive club is pushing gta on first year of release? TRUEEE
I disagree they are pushing the envelope of the Ps4. From the actual play videos I have watched I am not that impressed. They are pushing their capabilities of what they know, not of what is actually possible. I have Forz a Horizon 2 and that looks as good at 1080 30fps and has more open world off road instead of being confined to tracks on rails play and sterile enviornments- such as desert and apline snow which should not be taxing on the graphic capabilities - like Driveclub. So if the lowly x1 can do this with the right programmers, then the mighty Ps4 should be capable of more than this. I call bs.
@Horndawgie I think you should have your glasses prescriptions checked...
The lighting quality and "sterile" environment in DC are much more detailed than those in FH2, it may have other qualities, it even looks pretty nice, it could almost pass for a PS4 game! but it does not look as good as DC.
@Horndawgie Forza Horizon 2 runs in 30 fps? And I think you haven't seen enough of Drivelub. Some of the recent footage coming out with the final code is absolutely mind blowing.
@Horndawgie you sound bitter? this is the best looking racing game period. doesn't matter what you say or how hard you try to dis it....ddr3 is a inferior card and will be obsolete in the next yr or so, if not already....this game wipes fh off the map visually, will have to wait and see game play wise.
@honestatheist21 @UNCStriker88 I sure hope you're not an adult. I bought an x1 because the exclusives are what I want to play. I don't buy a system because it's outselling another one. That's what sheeple do. Overpriced? Well I got mine with a free game. So I got a good deal for a system that has the games I want and the x1 controller is fantastic. I made an informed and logical choice instead of listening to raving nutcases. I feel sorry for people like you because you're missing out with your narrow minded thinking.
@honestatheist21 @UNCStriker88 None of which matters even slightly when playing the game. Destiny is a fantastic looking game and boring as f*ck. There is more to a game than just the visuals and there is more to a console as a result than the horsepower inside it.
@stage4saiyan So what exactly is your point? It's probably going to get the Corvette Z06 '15, as that is practically the best American car yet to hit the road. Unless you'd like to see more of Forza's American heavy muscle cars, go fast straight...scream like a b.. when you see corners.
@Dannystaples14 @R2C25 @ima_flyguy hes right, x1 has a ddr3 for christ sake lol..720 ddr3 for a new console? wow, they suck so bad and the followers are blind.
Horizon 2 isn't open world you can go off the road but you still follow a rout it's still a race cutting over a field or taking a shortcut in a racer isn't open world and isn't anything new.
