Why is this even news? of course its expected to run it on a higher resolution and frame rate. developers should stop making a big deal with providing us with such unnecessary details. Just imagine if during last generation every single game from the ps2/xbox era being announced having had HD overhaul....oh wait...this has been happening for years, carry on then.
@GameFan1983 HuH strange, my 4 year old PC with a GTX 580 has no issue pulling 60fps with high/ultra settings. And my card is several years old, most people have 600 or 700 series now...So I imagine they can easily pull 60+ Nice try though with the whole "No Life, and welfare" PC gamer BS.
@Kooken58 I hacked my Iphone4s, it could run crysis3 in 4k on ultra, so PC/console gaming is irreverent, I will prove it until you show me your benchmark where you can run metro at "ultra setting at 60fps" on a GTX580
@Kooken58 the whole console vs PC debate is a continuous cycle and people forget what has happened time after time.
I sum it like this.
Lets see how a $400 PC from 2006 vs a $400 Xbox 360 from 2006 run Skyrim. It looks pretty darn good on a Xbox running at 30fps. As opposed to a 2006 PC... be lucky if the if you get 5fps at the lowest of the low settings.
Ive been a PC gamer since like the 80s. PC fanboys have a pretty short term memory
Lets see the consoles run it at ultra settings like it is on PC, and see if it can still run at 60fps. I doubt it. Either way, the game is still gorgeous. Some of the best lighting I've seen in a game. Also dat realistic lighter flame :P
Also if this more "indie" Developer company can get the game to run at 60fps on the consoles, what does that say about the other AAA developers who have more money.
@Kooken58 I have a 2k gaming PC and I can't run it on ultra at 60fps, I will never build an expensive gaming rig again. from now on I will just get comfortable with medium settings on a cheap and fast PC or console.
@Halloll @Kooken58 I built a 900$ CPU in March and it runs MLL at Ultra absolutely fine, though I had to manually update Physx drivers to fix the stuttering. Maybe there's some technical problem in your system conflicting softwares or drivers or something.
I don't think mine runs at 60fps, more like 35-40 which is just fine as far as I', concerned. Do you mean the gameplay is choppy or just not at 60fps?
@Halloll When did you spend 2k dollars on your computer? Caus ei built a high end rig for about 1k and it runs both of these games on ultra without a problem. Also did you build your PC? Or did you get ripped off by Alienware?
Definitely interested in playing Metro 2033 with the updated engine on PC, since the original both runs AND looks worse than Last Light, but I enjoyed the story of it a little more. LL also has more refined shooting mechanics and just felt better to play. Unless I'm mistaking and these updates are only for the console, but my understanding is they entirely tweaked the game engine to improve it in much the same way LL was.
@SingletreeAve Ranger mode is awful... just play normal mode on hardcore difficulty. The only real difference in Ranger is a complete lack of HUD (when the HUD is very minimal and usually not on screen for normal mode anyway...). It's a problem because you can never check how much ammo you have, or even the prices of various good at the store... it's a half assed mode to say the least. You don't even know if you have grenades or throwing knives equipped because of the missing information... and you're limited to only 2 weapons instead of 3.
@nl_skipper I played through on Ranger, and not being able to see the number of rounds for me added another consideration to my play style, which I enjoyed, would I pay for it though, NO
Trust me you can tell a difference. I have a 144hz monitor and there is a big difference. However, i only care about this for multiplayer games, and am perfectly fine with single player games being 60fps or even less.
@oddjob117 @Clavera but...they can. The problem is that it isn't widely supported by hardware. So if you stumble onto a 120 fps video and try to see the difference you won't be able to tell unless you have a monitor that support 120 mhz refresh rate.
@everson_rm @Clavera Right, I don't even understand these people, sure there is a difference between 30fps, 60 fps and 120fps even, but it just doesn't make the game that much better for me. I was playing Watch Dogs on PS4 at a locked 30fps yesterday and it appeared perfectly smooth. I play Counterstike GO on my PC at over 100 frames and it appears perfectly smooth. I'm sure if you saw them side by side at the same time the difference would be more apparent, but I can play one game at 30fps and immediately switch to another playing at 60fps and they are bot perfectly playable and smooth.
The guys that are framerate whores are just trying to justify the expense of their high end rig. Do you really think that you have a better experience at 120fps than I do at 60fps or even 30fps, keep telling yourself that. 60fps only matters in twitch multiplayer shooters.
More goodies for my PS4, huzzah! I never could get Metro 2033 running well on my pc, even after upgrading, so I can't wait to actually be able to play it through!
