crap game its not worth the money bad optimization no learning from the npc like the previous gothic's few quests easy gameplay even o hard few dialogues and like blizzard says "and much much more"
The demo sure did not impress me at all. The graphics are nice and the game still has the gothic feeling but besides that there just isn't anything that really got to me. It has the same kind of quests, same kind of enemies, nothing really new. Voice acting is not great but i could live with that. If reviews give this game 8+ i still might buy the game otherwise i would choose Two Worlds 2. Obviously i will also buy Fallout NV.
"just played the demo. not impressed at all. voice acting is weak, lip syncing also weak, combat slow and boring, graphics suck, invisible walls etc etc." Dan7aylor hit the nail on the head. I stopped playing demo after guy stopped me on bridge trying to get me to do some lame task
@ Dan7aylor The graphics on the pc were actually pretty good. The voice acting did indeed suck. (The witches voice can probably make your ears bleed.) As for the combat being "slow and boring" it's the beginning of the game and it wasn't that bad. (it's better than oblivions just swing at everthing till it dies action...Oblivion is still a good game though :P )

Why are people talking about either this or games like Fable 3, Two Worlds, Witcher etc.? Why not buy all of them? It's not like we are spoiled with RPG games for the PC
Loved Gothic and Gothic II, suffered through Gothic III. Hopefully the version IV will be back on track and improve on the originals. Especially the item part needs to be improved, something inspired by the Diablo approach would make it much more exiting to explore the world and picklock those chests. Also hope the AI will be improved but I doubt it will be the case.
Wow is it just me or does the guy talking about his game know nothing about selling the product he's presenting to his viewer demographic audience? Open world rpg blah blah blah... thats all I got out of that interview... Pfff there was some info in there about the game mostly features but for a game thats suppose to be a role playing genre video game he really didn't go to much into what ur role your character has in the game? Is the plot that bad or is he just that poorly informed...
Looks nice, but the performance looks really bad (and i'm sure they are running this on a top-of-the-line demo PC). The fps looks to be about 10-15fps. Hopefully the game gets more optimized before release.
It's going to be a tough choice between this and Two Worlds 2. But I think I'm leaning towards the online play of Two Worlds 2. That way I can have a great RPG and wait for this to go down in price a little.
looks like another RPG that could be good but they screw it up with the console UI. It was pain in the ass to find something in your inventory in Oblivion. RPG + console = FAIL
One thing I always disliked about the Gothic series was the combat system. Felt really clunky to me. Looks like this one will one will have decent combat.
Go get 14 chickens LOL...how about eliminating all those PITA 'quests' altogether and actually provide more meaningful content instead. Too much to ask? Now, press 50 times then go look around the corner for your no-prize
guys its my idea or you getting a castle or a fort or something? did you see the gaurd how they respond? master, respect etc... hmm.. getting interesting and interesting!!!
Hopefully it brings Gothic into the modern gaming era without losing that distinct feel of the trilogy. Lets also hope it has less glitches than 3 did, that was a mess.
Check out the fireball spell from the high ground there. Very nice. Yeah, this is looking far better than the likes of Risen to me. I'll be getting this day one.
