I really don't get people comparing this game to Mass Effect...the gameplay looks nothing at all like Mass Effect. Besides, Mass Effect borrowed gameplay from games that came before it, so saying it looks like Mass Effect is really saying that it looks like a lot of games (many of which are quite old).
voice acting never sounds good in these videos even if its great in the actual game.... i might rent this game but theres no way im wasting a decent amount of money on it mostly because its made by obsidian.... and ive yet to play an obsidian game i thought was worth half what i paid for it
wots with u guys i think this an awesome game the graphics need to be touched u a bit but C'mon this an awesome looking game with great real time choices which most games don't have nowadays so every1 quit nitpicking GOSH lmao :P
some people say that we shouldnt focus on the graphics... but why would i wanna see PS2 graphics on a PS3? isnt it a NEXT-GEN console? we should be getting both gameplay and graphics on these games, cause we were promised "NEXT-GEN" when we bought these "NEXT-GEN" consoles
Hmm it seems like im not the only one who thinks the graphics could be a little bit better. Sure i like great graphics and sound (killzone 2 would be nothing but a generic shooter without them). However, the gameplay looks awesome in this, and it kind of reminds me of mass effect. By that i mean the way the character moves and the attribute menu.
Overall, not interested. Nice dialogue system, not very clean animation and sloppy looking action. Guess i'm spoiled. To be honest, it looks like a really good looking PS2 game, but Matt did say, "work in progress." --lol, Beta Protocol Aside from the aesthetics (up close) with facial features and meshes, the characters and designs are redundant... not sparking anything new and actually an obvious lack of quality compared to other stealth/espionage games. Might try it, won't buy it!
...and about people whining over the graphics, what you see here isn't necessarily what you get. When I commented under UFC Undisputed videos, I thought the rigged animation was poor and the graphics lackluster... then I downloaded the demo and it was nothing like the videos (everything was much better). I truly hope it's the same case here cause: the snow was ridiculously poor, the walking cycle was nasty, and that woman's pink sunglasses were childish. The sound quality (no comment)! Looks like they're showing us their beta. Hopefully much more improvement further along, we'll see...
I like obsidians previous stuff and this is their first original IP so I hope it does well but it looks pretty dull to me. I hope New Vegas kicks ass though.
I hate shades of grey. If I wasnt to be bad then I want it to be easy to be bad. If I want to be good I want it to be easy to be good. I hate having to think about decisions!
to the person whining about graphics... did u not hear the guy say it was a "work in progress" not everything has to be shiny and new just so you can enjoy a game. whatever happened to people appreciating originality? you probably suck EA's teet for every lame excuse for a "new" game that they put out... prime example. Need for Speed. I can go on for hours about how they've destroyed that title; as well as, almost every title that they've commercialized. Does this mean I don't like great graphics? No. Why do you think everyone got a second job to afford the PS3 and a badass HDTV? All I'm saying is just cool off on how great it should look and focus on how awesome it's going to be to play it.
Looks great, I really like the handler feature..That should allow every level to be replayed atleast a couple of times Not too sure how the RPG thing will work if people don't have the one track mind they anticipate us to use when choosing skills...I assume like most RPG games, over doing a skill like gunplay would make you a poor hand-to-hand fighter and vice versa...What if you decide to change your combat style halfway through the game? Either way, will be looking forward to this @coastalliving - Do you really judge a game based on how the voice over performs? That's pretty illogical It's like saying you won't buy a game because you don't like the developer's kid's first name...
Looks pretty good! Still, I'm kind of confused as to what side you're supposed to be on in this game. Are you with the the CIA, and just hook-up with different handlers in these countries the operation takes place?
Seems like it needs some improvement.. but that's what us waiting a billion years(you know what i mean) is for.. right? o.o I'm getting this no matter what though.. since I'm completely in love with every aspect of this game lol.
