Perhaps the greatest looking PS2 RPG ever made.

First and foremost, the first thing you will notice when you pop Valkyrie Profile 2 onto your PS2 is the sheer beauty of the game, I actually thought I was checking out something for the PS3. Both ingame, CG, and voice acting were way up there. In fact they are in many ways superior to that of the Final Fantasy series, since the game maps take on a 2.5D method of exploration, the developers have definitely concentrated on improving the overall aestictics.
Though the game itself is quite a bit harder than the previous Square Enix games, and will require a hour or two at least for learning curve, that is what makes Valkyrie Profile such a great game. The depth of the character development and the involving story makes this one of the best RPGs by Square Enix to date.
