Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Has Everything You Want From A 3rd Person Platform Game
User Rating: 8.5 | Uncharted: Drake's Fortune PS3
If you like platform games like tomb raider and splinter cell you'll love this one. Uncharted has a bit of everything e.g. lots of action, shooting, close combat takedowns, puzzles, climbing, car chase sequences and movie sequences that really add to the enjoyment of the game. There is no multi-player option and although it has similar themes to other games it still works really well and feels like nothing else I've played. The story starts off a bit like an Indiana Jones movie Drake is a young archeologist or explorer and always finds himself at the wrong place at the wrong time with a few sticky situations that he must try and get himself out of. It's a race against time action game were the idea is to find the hidden artifacts before the mercenaries and their dictator with a few surprises thrown in along the way. The story is really good because it keeps you guessing which makes the game very addictive because you want to find out what's going to happen next. The gameplay gives you options which is nice, this means if you like shooting games you can shoot and take cover behind objects, or you can get involved with some hand to hand combat. Uncharted is a game you'll play to the finnish and have lots of fun while doing so but due to the lack of multi-player activity there's not much left to do once the game's been completed. If you stumble upon the game for a decent price it's definately a winner.
