This didn't feel like a particularly long game, but it was enjoyable. Lots of solid platforming action. Most of the time, you could figure where you had to go next, and it took only a few deaths to figure out how to get past most obstacles. I had to resort to looking up a walk-through once. I found the story a bit confusing. This is a sequel to Tomb Raider: Legend, but it also introduces characters I'd never seen before (this is only my second Tomb Raider game after Legend; I've since learned some of the new characters in Underworld are long-time recurring characters in the franchise), but Lara behaved as if she knew them. I liked the inventory and menu system, and the new (since Legend) hint system was quite helpful on a couple of occasions. My biggest complaint is the camera. When Lara is scaling walls or cliffs, the camera is limited in how far it can swing. Also, movement controls are camera-relative. When Lara had to jump off a wall or ladder, it could be difficult to get her to go in the right direction. There was also some noticeable clipping, where Lara's hands or feet would disappear inside a wall or floor. I've read melee combat has issues, but I almost never used it. I stuck to ranged weapons and the auto-target lock feature worked well.
