Hardest review ever...
This is the most immersive solo experience one can have. It's hard to describe it, for you to know, I sometimes disconnect myself from Live in order not ot be disturbed by the occasional pop-ups, from friends logging in and out, as a matter of fact I do a all ritual prior to play the game, like see if I have at least 2 hours to play, turn off the lights, make myself real comfortable on the couch (I wonder how someone can play this on a office desk...), some short of snack (to grab a bite after a dungeon/cave exploration), a light coke on hand, a piece of paper and a pen to list some caves/forts "to do later".
So what's this all about then ?
- It's a whole virtual fantastic life, the art (I wouldnt call it graphics...) is amazing, and the only drawback in this it's the drawing distance wich is fairly short, but it compensates with the huge beautiness. The game, despite its hugeness, has very little repitition, as far as I know different teams handcrafted the various cities, separated from each other. Every city has a feature, one is a sailors/fisherman city, other is a vines one, Imperial city is the cosmopolitan/hip one, and sorts.
- The orchestration (I wouldn't call it music) is top-notch, and I don't mean AAA, I mean Lord of the Rings movie's soundtrack level!
- The gameplay is so, so sweet... . I must admit that at first, and when I reached level 15 (and as most of you know by now, our foes level with us), find it too hard, but it is not. One just must pay attention to the armor level, and what's the best attack to use: blade, or fire spell, shock spell, frost one... .
- Value: I can only say that I've played 138 hours by now, and have "only" 500 GS. It's a game not to do in a hurry.
So buy the game, apreciate the beauties of life and replace "life" by "Oblivion" whenever you feel like!
