One of the best fighting games ever!
The bad - Very tough boss fight, Story modes of each character are very short
Tekken 5 is the 5th game in the ever popular Tekken series. Tekken is a great fighting game franchise which surprised the world through its each debut of games. From Tekken 1 the franchise worked up its way to make fighting games until Tekken 5 was finally made. Tekken 5 was made completely different than all the other previous Tekken games. Some examples to prove this are the game's graphics, largest number of characters to date, availability of a bonus mode called Devil Within, Stunning graphics, Very tough boss fight etc. Therefore it is very clear that Tekken 5 is the best game in the series to date.
There are number of single player and multiplayer game modes available in this game. They are Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Survival Mode, Devil Within mode, and Practice Mode which are the main game modes.
Story Mode - A mode explaining the storyline of each character.
Arcade Mode - A mode where you can select a fighter and work your way to the top. You will start with a specific rank and fight other players with different ranks. Once in a while you will get a promotion match which you must win in order to improve your rank. However if you lose your promotion match about 2 or 3 times, there will be a demotion match where your rank will decrease if you lose. As your rank gets better and better your opponents will be much tougher to beat. The highest rank you can reach is "Tekken Lord".
Survival Mode - A mode where you must choose a fighter and survive as long as possible. There will be a small health bonus awarded to you after every match. The longer you survive this mode, the more money you will get.
Devil Within Mode - A 3D mode where you will get to experience Jin's past. The camera type present in this mode is behind your character where you can move the camera anyway you like. Once you keep on defeating enemies a specific gauge will fill up. Once this gauge is Jin will transform to Devil Jin when you press L1+Triangle.Once you are Devil Jin your health bar will decrease gradually. There is a limited amount of time where you can be Devil Jin. If you wish to transform back to Jin while you are Devil Jin, you must simply press L1+Triangle again.This game mode features 5 levels where each level will take at least 30 to 90 minutes to complete. There is also one save point present in each level which will take a player about 15 to 30 minutes to find. Once you complete this mode for the first time you will unlock Devil Jin in the other modes and you will also earn 1,000,000 Gold. You can also earn specific amount of Gold once you complete each level in Devil Within Mode.
Practice Mode - A mode where your opponent doesn't do anything unless you command them to. While your opponent is not doing anything you are free to practice all your moves [which can be found under the moves list] against him. A perfect mode to familiarize all your moves.
Apart from all of these modes players can even battle against their friends in 2 player modes. However they cannot do so in Devil Within Mode, Story Mode, Arcade Mode or Survival Mode.
In overview Tekken 5 is a great game which features over 30 playable characters, over 15 fighting stages, over 10 music tracks and so on. Tekken 5 is a fighting game that can never be missed by anyone who likes fighting games.
