Pretty... good?

Honestly, I don't know what to say, but if you're just going to write me off as a jackass who hates the game, at least scroll to the bottom. I remember playing my brother's copy of this game when I was young, and I remember hating it because of the difficulty, and that's about it. Now, though, I just don't know. The levels are sadistically difficult, more because of a lack of ability to do anything then because of actual difficulty. You can jump, you can attack forward, backward, up, or down on the ground, or one direction in the air. Other than bonus secondary weapons (the SWs = teh suck btw) that's it, and you can't even always do them all. The graphics are ok (I guess) for a 2d fighter on the NES, but the frame rate drops drastically and the entire screen goes nuts if more than five enemies appear on the screen at a time mand considering lesser enemies can attack in groups as big as a dozen in the first level or two, it will happen to you eventually.

It's a short game, and I mean short. Even if you take into account the time it takes to become familiar with the controls, the game mechanics, and the layout of the levels, if you sat down and played this game for 10 hours straight, having never played it before, you should beat it at least twice.

Anyone who has seen that Angry Nintendo Nerd (I don't care for him, myself) review, the one thing he definitely got right was the confusion over the enemies. Remember that classic TMNT character Guy With Chainsaw?

That's all I can think of worth saying before the summary, short of outlining the plot and levels of the game, which I will not do. Now, this isn't a great game, and if you've actually read this review you would probably think I absolutely detest this game, and you might be right, but I still can't stop myself from playing. I got it as soon as it came to the virtual console and I still play it at least once a week. What the ****?
