Phenomenal, difficult, exhilarating, demanding are all adjectives that can be used to describe Steel Batallion. This game is a must have for any MechWarrior, BattleTech or any other giant robot game fan, and don't worry about the price tag because in no time you will have logged enough hours to make the investment worth your while... Full Disclosure...I am a newbie who received the game as part of the re-release, so I have only had the game for a few days. But I have played enough games over the past 20+ years to know a great thing when I play it...and I have logged about about 12 hours of play in the 36 hours of possession of the game. Despite the high level of difficulty, there is a low level of frustration as the AI acts in such a way that if you do the wrong thing you will get killed, and if you do the right thing you will do the killing. You learn and you get better, which is all someone can ask from a game. For anyone who wants to get more of a feel from the community of committed players visit the Steel Batallion Central website...you'll run right out and order this game. With the release of the on line component of this game, SB: Line of Contact the value of this title has increased exponentially. The complaints that have to do with the price of the controller, and playing only one game (now 2 games) with it ring hollow, especially since so many people will spend well upwards of $200 to upgrade their graphics card or other PC components to play one game...
