If your looking for the Clone Wars in a video game form, then keep looking...
First off, there isn't much I can say that is positive about Clone Wars other than, you guessed it, is about the tv mini series. Even the graphics look "blah" compaired to the tv show. Details below.
The story, charactors, voices all seem to be in the right place. There is a movie tie-in in which it wraps up lose ends between season one and two of the tv mini series. They just didn't incorperate any of these elements into the gameplay making it a boring and sloppy after thought which is a shame.
I think this is a good example of Lucus Arts rushing this out to get a quick buck during the holiday season. It's also sad that many unsuspecting parents will probably buy game for their kids without a second thought on taking the time to research the reviews.
I could mention that the controls even on my XBox 360 controller are sloppy showing the laziness of the developers. The camera is too far away to get any since of immersion. I think what they were trying to do is help the player by showing more of the screen but in the long run it just looks like your playing a game with miniatures.
The graphics and sound are fairly decent but I thought the graphics look washed out and dull. I have everything maxed out by the way. This game is no resource hog though which is a plus but its also no cutting edge graphical masterpieace and far from it. To me, the Clone Wars mini series looks ten times better than this game even on max graphical settings. If you don't believe me see for yourself.
Lastly, there is two player coop mode in the game but its only for players on the same platform? Can we say made for the consoles in mind anyone? Really, I think this game represents everything wrong with console ports these days. Even for the consoles this game is bad and its much like the Clone Wars: Lightsabers Duals from last year on the wii. A great idea that somehow never materialized into something substantial wraps this review up nicely.
