Although this game has very realistic references to the movie series, I don't think that you really need to be all that big on Star Wars to appreciate the work in this game, but a general knowledge of the movies would help. The graphics in the cut-scenes are amazing, and the missions are fun and not too hard. A good game for the young ones as robots don't bleed. I really enjoy the Co-op sectoin of the game, it allows you to battle your way through the galaxy with a friend. If you are a Star Wars freak like myself, then trust me...buy this game and reclaim the universe! It also has an "instant action" part which just takes you to meaningless battle. Overall a good purchase and very, very entertaining as I have wasted hours on it!
