As comprehensive and as thorough as a I am; there are occasionally times where even I can drop the ball, when it comes to reviewing a really great game! While normal pinball can be a challenging and interesting diversion; I think the reason more people don't play normal pinball is that those games are so hard to actually WIN! Of course, developing a video-based pinball game that is actually FUN, isn't always as easy as it looks. Nintendo actually tried having a "Pinball" launch title for the NES in America in 1985; but that game doesn't do much more than regular pinball can already do. Hudson Soft tried it out with "Kirby's Pinball Land" in 1993, and while that version is DEFINITELY better; the game is let down by the fact that it doesn't manage to be as long! But THIS game is the first game that I feel, managed to get the perfect quality of pinball challenge right; with the right amount of challenge! The graphics, sound, controls, and the difficulty are all good; but the BEST part of this game is the ROCKING music within it! While there are technically only 4 stages with 4 bosses to beat, with a bonus area in between each stage; you will have so much fun playing and trying to rack up a high score, that the game will DEFINITELY feel a lot longer to play; not to mention that you'll probably want to replay it often, since it's just THAT much fun to play! This game also holds the distinction of being only one of TWO games that I managed to beat in its original form on the Sega Genesis! Needless to say, if you EVER wanted to play a pinball type game on a video game system; THIS is the game you should play first! And it's easier than ever to play this game, with it being available on the Nintendo Switch's Sega Genesis Virtual Console Service! Enough said, true believers!
