Sonic is back and you're thinking, "I hope it's better then Shadow the Hedgehog."...
Well, Shadow wasn't such a bad game, just... got annoying after a few hours, or try.
Haha, Sonic is BACK! Sonic... Riders. A racing game? Yep. Is it good? Let's see...
For one thing, the graphics are improved, a lot. Better than Sonic Heroes (which, wasn't really praised for it graphics anyway...) and I mean REALLY improved. The opening video for the game, you'll notice a awesome graphics. But once you go into the game cut scences... It isn't bad, just sotra like Sonic Adventure.
The characters are also improved. The new characters are like Sonic an dfriends counter parts. One is like Sonic, one is like Tails (into mechanic stuff), and Knuckles (tough and all). And they show REAL emotion. From happy to SUPER angry in a second. The voice acting is good, better than what we had in the past. It was so horrible I played the game in japanese. I couldn't stand it...
GAMEPLAY... could be better. Once you first play the game, you'll be too excited to read the manual and go into play. This game does NOT go easy on you. Let's talk about racing. One thing, you'll come in last the first couple of times playing. The turning (hard turning) feels kind of out of place as the camera stays in the center as your character slides off the screen.
The tracsk are cool and creative. BUt later tracks will feel like it's cheating you. Of course, there are pitfalls and just falls, Once you fall down you'll be put back close to where you fell at, with will make you fall again, making you frustrated. Glitchs are VERY constant. And replays AREN'T REALLY REPLAYS. At first, like the first minute or so, you're watching yourself. But once (something) happens, next thing you know, your character will be off the board and bumping and falling like some idiot. It's funny though.
Pits are everywhere, but, they came be placed at a place you wouldn't want it to be. You'll accendentaly stop into one, which, is letting other racers pass you up, and you end up coming in last.
Racing is okay. Turrbulence is cool and ride one. Tricks are fun to preform once you get used to moveing the analog to do one.
I'm not even going into the story. You already know what gonna happen.
(Ever since Sonic called Robotnick "Eggman" in Sonic Adventure, he's been calling himself that...
SO, the answer is yes, it is better than Shadow.
Camera can be annoying, yes, even in this Sonic game. But rent it, at all means. It's still fun. Sonic fans (like me) BUY IT!
