Not gonna lie, I really thought this game was going to be a bust game. What changed my mind was the Gamestop manager who said that this game changed the way he thought about RPGs. I first want to talk about the story line: you are 3 characters: Zephyr, Vashyron, & Leanne. Resonance of Fate takes place in the distant future where Earth has undergone a drastic change in the environment. For reasons unknown, poisonous layers of gases permeated the land, causing cancer, which resulted in near extinction for mankind due to humanity's inability to adapt to the new changes. The remaining humans built a gigantic device called Basel, an environment purifier buried deep in the ground, which cleanses the air in the surrounding land; it was called the Zenith System. I don't want to go into too far of detail, so I will leave it hear. The story doesn't develop until the end of the game. It left me in wonderment wanting me to play more and more.

Combat: The combat is mainly guns and grenades; however, the weapons and customization doesn't make the combat fun. It is the fast pace and thrilling turn based system which hasn't worked like any other turn based game I've seen. It is free roaming around the battle area, and turned based at the same time. If you don't attack within a certain time, the game will move to the cpu's turn and attack you. This enforces critical thinking in how you will attack and how quick you can respond. The game is not hack and slash for all you Kingdom Hearts lovers, but I do love KH and hack and slash; however, this game expanded my mind to different possibilities and strategies of battle. Boss battles are also very hard and entertaining.
