Very Cool Game but it can become Very Repetitive.

It's sad to say that a genre that has been falling for the past 5 years and helped arcades bring so much entertainment finally end. R-Type Final is a great game, and there's so much to do inside of it. The gameplay stayed true to the classics of the series, not much has changed except for the weapons and ship design. Any time that you can create something that doesn't need to be changed for close to 2 decades is amazing. The graphics were stepped up in this one, of course with better graphics comes bigger and badder enemies. Not only that, the background environments can become captivating. So much that you will lose a few lives if you pay too much attention. The story, well... there really isn't much of a story, but the little bit that they do have is interesting and for me kind of deep. Yes even when there's not much of a story to go on.
There are plenty of extras in the game to keep you busy for awhile such as extra stages and fighters. Mainly finding the extra fighters is what would take up your time, and this is where it gets repetitive. With the limited amount of default stages you have to log in time with each fighter. This is when I get bored and say forget the other fighters. I unlocked about 60 - 100 fighters and had to put the game down. Other than that, the game is great.
If you are a fan of the series then you'll love this game, if you like things to go boom then you'll like this game.
