1) Backwards compatibility is most important at system launch, when there is very little to play otherwise.
2) I, like others, have been building a huge collection of physical and digital games since 2005 that now spans every genre and represents thousands of hours of entertainment. I've been quite busy over these last several years and haven't gotten around to playing everything. I also have a large collection of arcade sticks and other accessories. To be able to continue enjoying these on a new, more robust platform, along with all-new experiences featuring awesome graphics, would have been a insta-buy for me. But asking me to start all over and calling me "backwards?" I may just stay with 360 indefinitely.
