PS3 is mine

So as some of you know my fiance and I exchanged gifts on the 19th because we are terrible with waiting for Christmas. To my complete shock she got me a PS3 for Christmas. To her complete shock I got her some oven cleaner with a coupon saying that I would clean the oven (she was estatic) and a digital camera and tickets to see John Mayer in concert. We both made out like bandits in the present department.

As of right now, I own Little Big Planet:GOTY (awesome game), Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (awesome) and Valkryia Chronicles (awesome. As for as accesories go I'm planning on getting another controller and the Blu-Ray remote and possibly the headset, but I can wait on the headset. If I do end up getting the headset does any Bluetooth device work?

And for games I have to be patient as Christmas is 3 days away and I'll either be receiving gifts or gift cards. But I'm planning on definitely picking up Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2 and Demon Souls. I've got to put some money aside for Mass Effect 2 and Wii Sports Resort (my dad's birthday is in January). I'm planning on picking up Infamous as well.

I'm debating if I should trade in my copy of FIFA 10 for the 360 for a copy on the PS3 as my 360 copy works like crap. Holiday decisions await.

Enough of my greedy materialistic blogging.

Happy Holidays to all of you and have an awesome New Year!

This Holiday Season in Gaming

Well it's been an extremely long time since I've written so I figured I'd get going again.

With the recent money I've thrown down on a ring for a marriage proposal to my girlfriend added to the amount of cash I've thrown at my car this week, my gaming priorities are going to have to be set straight. First off, FIFA 10 and Modern Warfare 2 will be purchased. Modern Warfare 2 on day one and probably FIFA 10 around that same time (both for the 360 because that's the console I own!)

Now then, I planned on purchasing Dragon Age around Christmas time but now I'm anticipating of beating Brutal Legend in 2-3 days and sending it back to Gamefly, I'll be able to obtain DA from Gamefly. I'll also be receiving Borderlands from Gamefly. I have high anticipation for both of these games but I may not be drawn into them so the rental is the best way to go. The reason Gamefly works out so well with these titles is that I can purchase them for less than full price if I choose to do so. If I'm sucked into both of these titles it will be the best way to go about this. If not....

I'll save my money for a PS3. That's what I've been planning on doing this whole time but I've been side tracked by many things (stated previously) not to forget money I owe family members and student loans. But the only other games that are 360 exclusives I really care about are Mass Effect 2 (of course) and Bio Shock 2.

At the moment my purchases for the PS3 would be Valkyria Chronicles, Demon Souls and Uncharted 2. Metal Gear Solid 4 is up there too as well as the Ratchet and Clank games. I've heard alot about Infamous too. What other PS3 (exclusive) games are there that are worth picking up?

Well I hope everyone enjoys this crappy blog and I'd gladly welcome any comments or suggestions, but I'm going to go play some FIFA and go to bed.

Thanks Weltall, for inspiring me to post again.

I know it's been a while since I've made another mediocre contribution to my blog but after seeing Weltall's response in my last post I have this to say. Being born in the mid 80's I grew up with Brett Favre and the Packers being the greatest thing in the world. I still thought the world of him when he retired and was genuinely sad that one of my childhood heroes was done with the game of football. Until he unretired. I lost just about all respect for him and now he's just a joke. Living in Eau Claire for a while I met alot of people from Minnesota and if I know one thing about Vikings fans it's that they HATE Brett Favre. Anyway you look at it the Packers will improve over last year, Brad Childress will be fired and Brett Favre will continue making a fool of himself if he can even get through a full season. "Hay guyz I'm working out with the local southern high school wearing mah cargo shorts" (that's what Brett Favre said). Eat it up ESPN and other lame media outlets. Goodbye for now and hopefully I can get inspired to start writing about interesting stuff one of these days. Ok so I've thought of a much better topic to write about thanks to Nate. THE BREWERS!!! So it's the beginning of the 2nd half of the season and the Brewers are an underwhelming 48-47. But I guess 2.5 games out of first place isn't so bad. The unfortunate thing is that Soriano is starting to heat up and who knows what kind of shenanigans the Cubs will pull. It seems like the road to the NL Central pennant leads through St.Louis. They have disgustingly consistent players and now that they picked up Mark Derosa, they have an additional bat that can play anywhere and hit for power. Luckily the Brewers recently traded for Felipe Lopez from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He's a solid second baseman that can finally fill the hole the Brewers have had at the leadoff position ever since Rickie Weeks was lost to the disabled list. A lead off hitter that is a switch hitter and is batting over .300 is a welcome addition to the Brewers. With Lopez on the team that helps alleviate some of the pressure and stress that bench players such as Casey McGehee were feeling. Consistent hitting will also be important. Prince Fielder picked up where he left off after the All Star Break as well as Ryan Braun. It will be important for the rest of the team to contribute and drive in runs in scoring position. And for Corey Hart to get out of his slump! If the Brewers are unable to make a move for a starting pitcher before the trade deadline, scoring will be absolutely vital to winning ball games. Depending on how long Dave Bush is going to be out for and if he is going to be 100% when he returns will factor into the need for a starting pitcher. Braden Looper has surprisingly been the Brewers most consistent pitcher this year. The resurrection of Manny Parra is another vital part to the Brewers potential success in the 2nd half. Parra was sent down to the minor leagues after a lackluster beginning to the season. After returning from the minors it seems that he has settled down and is beginning to come into his own. As you can tell I'm very excited for the 2nd half of the season and I'm hoping for the Brewers to win the Central and if they can't do that get the Wild Card. But then again, if their record is over .500 I would be estatic after all of the losing seasons the Brewer fans (and myself) have had to deal with. Thanks to Nate for getting me going on the Brewers!

Hot Off Topicness

Hello everybody. I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was good. Spent some time with my family and spending some quality time with my girlfriend. Some of my plans fell through due to the enigma that is Wisconsin weather. It looked like it was going to rain all weekend and it rained the only time I had plans to spend time outside. I watched Schindler's List for the first time today and wow, what a powerful film. It was a long movie but it was extremely captivating. It was a very emotional too, but the scene at the end when Schindler is about to flee Czechoslovakia and part with all of the people he saved was the most powerful scene in the movie for me. I'm really anxious to hear back from the Hospital this week to see what their decision is. (This job would be incredible) Brett Favre, is a major douchebag. I'm probably going to go trade in Oblivion tomorrow ( I tried and I tried but I just can't get into that game) and Persona 3 so I can pick up P3:FES. I might start up Gamefly this week to get Prototype, it just doesn't seem that amazing though. I'm direly waiting reviews. Well that's all I have in me for today. Maybe, one of these days, I'll have a coherent post that follows some sort of beginning, middle, end format.

OMG I'm making a post

So I don't usually make posts. I admit it's a bad habit I have I should really start to do it more. For those who are taking the time to read this, thanks, it's pretty cool you're reading this bit of randomness. I take that back. It's really cool you're reading this and I thank you even more for taking the time to read my boring old post. I'd like to get into the habit of making this a more regular occurrence but here we go. Drawing a blank now....Persona 4 is easily the best PS2 game I've played. Persona 3 was amazing but Persona 4 improves on so many facets of the game. It makes minor improvements in minor areas such as being able to hit the square button to travel to different destinations or having a fox in the dungeon that is able to heal you. I've found that I enjoy the characters much more in P4 than in P3 too. Also the whole murder mystery part of P4 is very captivating and drags me into the game as well. This weekend I'll be attending my first Brewer game of the season. I'm very excited. Two of my favorite past times, the Brewers...and TAILGATING. Nothing is better than beer, brats and bean bog toss/ladderball before a Brewers game. It's going to be a great weekend. Well this has been pretty random but semi enjoyable. I hope to make more coherent and enjoyable posts in the future. Let me know if you enjoyed this brief typing fit. I apologize for the lack of indentations. GS will not allow me to break up the paragraphs :(

Lost Odyssey

So I'm about 8 hours into LO. And I think it's a very good game. The story is great and the graphics are gorgeous. But for some reason I don't like it as much as other rpg's i've played. I guess I'm holding it to the standard of games such as persona 3 and dragon quest 8. I guess I just need to keep plugging away at it.
