@mogan: "The point of the article isn't to dredge up things Microsoft did wrong and laugh at them, it's pointing out how the failure and resurrection of the Xbox this generation is important."

Depending on leadership, it is entirely possible for a company to be completely wrong about an approach they take against consumers VS, being a hit with consumers.

While I do not have memory issues and I can agree eith you on the fact that they did mess up very heavily at the beginning of x1 generation under the egotistical idiot they had leading the division back then, Spencer has done fantastic.

I don't know the individual personally for obvious reasons but his approach with gamers is a complete 180 from 7 years ago.

While I could choose to hold things in heart and never give their system a chance, I did any way. Turned out to be the right decision.

Frankly speaking? Gamespot needs new editors who are not Sony fanboys. The articles need to be balanced. The editor base needs to be balanced. As it stands, I was disgusted by the crap I read for pricing predictions.

One of the gentleman who said that he decided to buy console based on how many games he predicted to buy, could have also included that he could have played multi play games on Xbox vs Ps4. It's a choice for when it comes to multiplat. As far as Ps4 and its exclusive goes, they have a fantastic library, out of which I would not play more than 5 games at the most.

I would however gladly buy an Xbox for one game and not look back. I can afford to.

Fact of the matter is, if someone can only afford to spend 500 bucks because that is their budget, I am more than happy to agree with which ever console they chose to go with.

"risk" of purchase is not a great reason. If I spent additional 500 bucks that allowed me to play maybe 3 or 4 more exclusives over the next 7 years, yeh I would spend it.

It's less than 100 bucks a year and less than 10 bucks a month. If you are going to go out of your way and say that spending "10 USD" a month is a higher risk for you as a "gaming article editor" , you need to re think your career.

@reznik00: I can't believe the nonsense that I just read. I had not logged into gs for a short while now. Your obnoxious and ridiculous comment however, broke that streak. Congratulations.

You are 7 years behind on that comment of yours. Get a clue. Do some research. You having 2 Xbox in your household, while they are gathering dust, makes you sound like an impulse buyer who doesn't weigh pros and cons for their purchases.

I have played dig dug back on giant floppy disks. I have had Atari, nes, snes, Sega md, ps1, ps2, Xbox 360. Skipped ps3. I have a Ps4 pro, 3 Xbox ones (x1x, x1s, and x1), a ps4pro and a pikachu switch.

I do not game on pc any more because there was a time when I couldn't keep up with upgrading PC's. I didn't have enough to eat properly. 360 was a cheap purchase.

I have had over 10,000 hrs in guild wars. Probably more in world of Warcraft, in top 25 clan in world as a core raider. Over 1000s in destiny, halo, division and definetly over couple of 100s in mhw, and other games. Yes. I am a video gamer. I qualify to be called one.

Things have changed. I have purchased 2 Xbox in last few years as a gift for 2 of my friends who couldn't afford it. Have bought them 3 years of Xbox live, and converted it into ultimate for a buck. I have purchased them games as gifts. I purchase 2 copy of games when needed for my self because one copy can be shared between 2 people but 3rd Xbox needs its own.

Game pass is not anti consumer. Businesses and producers and developers make a "choice", for whatever reason, to allow their games to be presented there. Whether it is because it is not selling any more or because they believe that it gives them some more revenue? or that they are just saints who want people to have access to their games for what ever cost they have incurred, purchasing their game pass? It's their choice. It's their business decision.

MS allows its own published games to be accessible for free when ever they do release one. To me, it is well worth the money.

They have done, for what ever their business reasoning is, a fantastic job in last few years in cleaning their strategy and they have done alot to improve their messaging over the years.

I don't care of they wear jeans and a hoodie OR a 3 piece suit, to showcase their games. Their dress is irrelevant to me. I can't believe that I have seen people trying to justify their console because of what dress code the company chose to present said console to the masses in.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Their approach has been fantastic. They have done alot for consumer lately.

I have had a horrible customer experience with Sony for my wife's vaio machine. It had gone back under warranty 4 times and each time it came back with exact same problem. I ended up throwing that Machine away and and got myself a Lenovo. I will never ever purchase a laptop from Sony ever again.

My Ps4 pro is there, it was an impulse purchase for me to play some mhw with my buddies who are on Ps4 ecosystem. I ended up purchasing some exclusives like uncharted and horizon dawn.

But in no way or shape am I sold into the eco system.

They have done absolutely nothing to win me over with their laptop strategy. I do not think that their games fully attract Me. I prefer shooters but I do enjoy RPGs if I find one worth playing. My wife prefers RPGs and she buys them instead.

You make your self sound like an expert on Xbox when you are actually truly vested into rival company's ecosystem.

I disagree with every thing you have said so far and I have spent enough money and played games enough to tell you that you are full of s***.

@MAXTHUNDER99:

GAMING RULE #1 ALL PEOPLE on games or game related website are mostly GIRLS : guys in real life. Treat them as such Unless proven otherwise.

#2 Our argument started after conference. Not before. Price was announced.

#3 I am a Canadian. I live in Toronto. I know how sales tax works here. When I said 678, i included sales tax on it. True price, if price was based on exchange, would be 500usd x 1.3 cdn exchange x 1.13x HST = 750 roughly. As it stands now, it is 670.

#4 do 1 /. 77 = 1.3. I am also an accountant. I know how currency exchange works.
