Company of Heroes: Victory and a Loss

I just finished playing two of the best COH rounds ive experienced. The first was a victory for me and my ally; the second round against the same two opponents, resulted in a loss.

The first round:
I wanted to start out strong and fast, I was the allies and if you play defensive at all, the germans will just sit back and wait for Tigers. So i built three engees and sent the first two north; one to the command point, the other to a munitions point. The third squad i held back a moment and had them build a barracks, this was (I believe) the key to victory on my side of the map. When the barracks was done I sent that engee unit to a control point which would link my main base to the two bases i was in the process of caping.
The bases were all captured and supply lines were connected, I wasted no time in securing two advance HQs to supply/defend my front line.
This is where my enemy (Helmzy) and I first exchanged fire. We had both captured the control points on our own side of the railroad track, but the middle was not being controlled by either yet, so we both rushed it at the same time. Unfortunatly for two of my engineermen, Helmzy had just deployed an MG42 inside the warehouse on his side of the tracks. I managed to pull the last engee back and stationed him inside a building, giving him a clear shot at the middle command point.
At this time my ally (Zweedse) had pused his opponent (Steve) up to create a straight solid line, except he had cap'd most of the command points on his side, while on mine, I had one, one belonged to Helmzy, and the other was being fought over.
I deployed a MG team and set it up in a warehouse to cover the command point as i used the other FHQ to recruit a mortar team which i then used to begin shelling the warehouse Helmzy's MG42 was in.
This is when Zweedse began to loose his footing on the crest of the hill. He was pushed back by a brutal attack by the Steve and fell back to lick his wounds. Steve set up a handful of MG42 nests and proceded to hold the hill for the time being.
Helmzy started to use his head and built a sniper. From his point of view all that he knew I had were engees, and an assorted handful of infrantry. What he didn't see though was the jeep I had built using the barracks I had constructed at the beginning of the game. Helmzy's sniper could have been fatal to my stance with the train yard, but the jeep made quick work of the sniper and it only cost me my rear guard of my mortar team.
As satisfying as watching Helmzy's sniper bite the dust as it was, I was beginning to become nervous as I watched Zweedse fail to retake the hilltop, as he was better then me and I knew that if he failed I would quickly fall. However I kept my cool and focused even harder on holding the only command point that we had at the time, which was just behind my frontline.
Helmzy tried to use my own medicine against me and deployed a mortar team of his own in effort to wipe out mine. I quickly dispatched a rifle squad to their position and slaughtered them, unfourtunatly in turn my squad was slaughtered by the deadly stream of MG42 fire, but I saw the loss as a necessity, it could be easily replaced, unlike a mortar team.
During this mortar scuffle, Zweedse managed to push Steve back and reclaimed the hilltop, silently cheering Zweedse on, I was surprised to heat the ominous sound of outgoing missles. Who was shooting them? Where were they headed? And what is coming after the dust settles? All flew through my head as I watched the rockets rain down upon my beloved mortar squad. The remaining two crewmen were blown to hell. In sheer vengence I signaled for an artillery barrage on the warehouse where Helmzy had just placed a second MG42. Although the barrage did not kill the two crews inside, it severly weakened the building structure. I used a spare engee squad to recover the mortar and reset it's position.
Zweedse had sent two squads on the outskirts of the bucolic part of the map and as they began to sun into the trainyard Helmzy's MG42 warehouse opened up, the MG42s were now shooting at Zweedses' men on the opposite side of the building that I was on. I took the oppertunity to send a riflemen squad out to capture the command point I had been fighting to take for over a half and hour now.
Zweedse realized the threat these dual MG42s were, and pulled the remaining men of his back to saftey. The MG42s now shifted their fire back onto my men, who were exposed as they desperatly tried to claim the command post for Uncle Sam.
Now what happened next is just one of those things that if your not looking directly at it, you wont believe it happened: My mortar team begain to bombard the warehouse again. The FIRST shell landed DIRECTLY on the one man manning one of the two MG42s, sending his body hurling out the window. The SECOND shell fell through a hole in the roof, that was caused by the arty, and landed square in the middle of the second Mg42 squad, killing all three of them. I could not believe my luck. I captured the command point and claimed more territory.
I was able to take three more various points which Helmzy seemed to abandon. Although he did send out another sniper (which once again only managed to shoot twice before the jeep mowed him down), and a mortar team there was no resistence. I became nervous again, I began thinking that he had sum sort of armored army waiting just out of my site, and i nercously equiped my men with sticky bombs, as I had not defense against any sort of heavy armor.
The nightmare soon rolled out of the fog. An Oswind literally ripped through two of my squads like a damn knife and melting butter. I was shaking, if he got that thing through my front lines, which against an OSwind were a joke, and into my base...I was in deep ****
However as I thought this horrid outcome, a more pleasent outcome occured. Me and Zweedse won. We had all the command points, and the last 100 for hte axis dropped to 0 in less then three mins. (5 a sec).
Over all it was an AMAZING game on ym side, I made some blunders along the way, but for the most part, I am proud of how I did.
Now for the tragic finale, that will wait untill tomorrow...

Over There Episode 7

Episode 8 comes on in 10 mins, gonna make this one fast. The squad soon discovers there is a price on Smokes' head. "$10,000 for then black man who killed the women and child." is what they said on the television. They also said if Smoke isnt turned in they will kill the journalist that they captured. The Major discovers the location of where the terrorists are holding the journalist and let the squad decide if they want to attempt this mission. The all agree, for Smokes' sake. They are sent into another small village, (I am beginning to realize this is just a TV show with a limited budget, all the sets appear to be in the same location, and about the same size.), and move in. They soon hear singing, and the Arab guy in the squad says they are getting ready for a beheading. Realizing that time is something they do not have they hastily move forward. Just as they are about to enter, Smoke asks if he can go first. Scream agrees and Smoke kicks the door down and bolts into the room. Clutching his large M208 machine gun he blasts the terrorists, but not before the guy holding the Katana slices the journalist's head of. With a sickining thud, the head rolls across the floor, admist bodies of the fallen terriosts. Europe, Bo is going home finally. Much to his disliking he is pushed out in a wheelchair to meet the van that will drive him to the airport, and then home. He soon realizes how lucky he really was, he sees many men on the bus with injuries that cannot be a well hidden as Bo's could. I think he has changed in this episode. When he gets home he decides he is going to take down the acess ramps. The episode ends with the squad paying their respects to the killed journalist. WOW 9:59, cutting it close. :)

Over There Episode 5

OK ive been lazy for a bit, sue me. Ne way two episodes have gone by. Lets start it in order so Episode 5. The unit that we have been following has now gotten an addition. A Journalist. He follows the men and women around and films there every move. Smoke uses this to his advantage and starts posing as this tough all-american soldier, taunting the Insurgents, only for laughs though. When the unit is sent to move their convoy is atacked by RPGs. DoubleWide takes shrapnel in her upper eye. The journalist films the entire thing, sometimes getting in the way. Scream sets the reporter in place though. The medic checks out doublewide and dertermines that she needs to be evacuated in order to save her vision in her one eye. She leaves with the medic, Mrs.B, and a few other soldiers. The main characters stay to investigate the small town where the RPGs came from. The village is quite, too quite. A soldier from another squad curiously sees a lump under a tablecloth in the bazaar. Before Scream can warn him teh soldier lifts the cloth up, setting off a C4 satchel, instantly killing him. The insurgents use this diversion to attack. From the rooftops, and through doorways the terrorists attack. Scream and his squad hold their ground. Smoke, cut off from the rest of the squad, has to use "spray" tactics to be most effective. Which ment he would just pop around the corner and spray the area where he saw a target last time he poped out. There is a bitter battle for a minute or two. Suddenly a young boy runs into the streets and throws rocks at the soldiers, his mother chasing after him. Smoke came around the corner guns blazing in the direction of where he thought a terriost was, mowing down the woman and child. The firefight ceases. Both sides are upset at what they just witnessed. Smoke stunned at the fact that a kid and woman had suddenly appeared in the fight, even more stunned when he realized what he had done. The insurgents withdraw. No one in the unit know exactly which side was responsible for the two killings, but they suspected Smoke. After the soldiers are all questioned by the Major (or other rank) they relax back in the base tent. Turning the news on they see that the journalist who was with them recorded the entire firefight. Edited with Smokes' jokes about how much of a toughguy he was, and showing him kill, or more like the video, slaughter the woman and child. The unit is outraged at the journalist. When confronted the journalist denies that that footage was his. He then tells the squad that the news company he worked for edited the part with Smoke without his permission. He said he quite his job with that company. The Squad didn't Believe him. This is the part I got a little confused at. The journalist, apperently, goes to the terriosts and wants to know if they were the ones who supplied the news company with that footage. They kidnap him. IM sure theres more to it then that, but i didnt really understand it too much. Later Smoke finds out that his mother had a stroke, a bad stroke, and Smoke has the chance of coming home for awhile. Smoke chooses to stay in Iraq. Doublewide's husband has been going to these support meeting for people who's spouse is over seas. He met this lady there that he keeps bumping into. They meet fo rlunch one day as friends. But I think more is going to happen. Bo is getting fitted for his fake leg. When he first tries it on he stumbles and immediatly gives up. The nurse knowing how strong BO can be when he is stubborn tells BO that the kansas boy next door started walking on his third try. Miraculously Bo could walk on his second try. Ill post the summary for episode six later. IM tired.

Over There Episode 4

Iraq - The soldiers are at a command center. The general informs them that an artilery spotter is keeping the trucks carrying brand new toilets at bay. The spotter is believed to be in a small village not too far away. Scream takes all them men, leaving Double-wide and Mrs.B behind to work on maitenance for the trucks. They arrive at the village, and take shelter in a blown out bunker. They begin to take routine checks of the town from the bunker. Soon Angel sees a little boy out infront of one of the houses. The boy sees the soldiers and begins waving at them. Suddenly a atry shell falls near them, destroying there humvee. When the smoke clears Angel still sees the little boy. Except now the little boy is laughing, and he runs back inside of the house. The next day the boy emerges with his father, the two begin to play a game of soccer. A cab is heard in the distance, the father takes his son inside the house, and a minute later a few shells land around the cab, one eventually destroying it.Smokes is now 100% convinced that the spotter is the father, he tells ANgel that the next time he sees him to pop him in the head. This episode really shows how sensitive ANgel is. Dim, and the new arab guy (still gotta figure out his name) dont think there is enough proof that the father is the spotter. That night the Arab guy points out something he just noticed, and he then thinks that the father is the spotter. Sgt.Scream calls the general, telling him they have a possible suspect. The general tell Scream to hurry up and kill the guy, because the trucks are on the way. As the trucks approach shells begin to fall around the trucks.Angel now must make the choice to shoot the man, or have the whole squad shot the house up and possible kill the entire family. Angel goes for his kill. The blinds in the house are closed, but Dim points out where the guy would have to be to accuratly spot for the road. I like Dim more and more every episode. Angel squeezes the trigger, and the bullet bust throught the window. The dead body of the father slumps out the broken window, Walkie-talkie in one hand, binoculars in the other hand. He was the spotter. Angel started to cry. Bo is beginning to realize he wont be going back, but he wont admit it to anyone. His wife has to leave to go back home. Bo begins training to walk with one leg. Dim's 7 year old step-son ( i forget his name so ill just call him Adam) wakes up to find his mommy isnt home. He has had enough and decides to run away. Evading the bus Adam leave to "go to Iraq to find his step-father". When Adams mother gets home she discovers what happened, she calls 911, but when on the phone something happens to her. Turns out she was pregnat and with all the drinking shes been doing latly she has had a miscarrige. When she is in the Hospital, they bring Adam in, they found him. I wonder if Adam's mom will be different now... The end credits show up on the screen as the soldiers look at the trucks coming to deliver the toilets. The wife of the spotter runs out of the house to the crumpled body of her husband. End

Over There Episode 3

OK its SAT and IM gonna try my best to remember wat happened. OK They take the prisonar they captured to this out post. At the outpost, which is basically an abandoned town, they meet up with this team of Special Forces soldiers. There leader (who is played by the guy who plays Randleman in Band of Brothers) is a real tough-guy to put it kindly. He is convinced that the prisonar knows where a cache of stolen Stinger Missles are. The prisonar doesn't give into the SPec.'s interrorgation and remains silent. They son learn that the prisonar knows english, and can speak it well. Soon the village is engulfed in a battle where terriost forces are trying to rescue the prisonar. But with some help from some F-16s the Troops hold them off. The Spec Forces leader has the prisonar's sister brought in and tells him that if he does not tell him where the stingers are he's going to send the girl to the Palestinians, and he then describes wat they will do to her....not very good stuff. He gives into that, telling the leader that the missles are being hidden at a farm. The prisonar makes the Spec. Leader swear he will not harm the farmers though. The Spec. Leader promises. Europe - Bo is still in the hospital, and is refusinfg to take morphine. He says he can handle the pain, and he barley does. There isnt much going on new with him in this episode. USA - Dim's wife has been seeing other men, and his son is having to grow up too fast. I heard hes gonna run away in the next episode. Iraq - You see a simple farm, a few chickens, and a couple goats. The credits come up onto the screen. You are panning around the farm untill you see a small shack, inside the shack are boxes, filled with the Stingers. A man goes in and looks at the boxes, everythings where it sould be, he walks out. The camera zooms way up into space. Your seeing the farm from Satilite UAV. The camera zooms down frame by frame. And then you can clearly see the farm on the satilite screen. All of a sudden the camera gets a cross hair on it, and zooms into the barn wherer the stingers are. As it makes impact the picture goes static. Just like the TV guided bombs in BattleField 2......hmmmmm.

Over there Episode 2

OK it now Sat, so Im gonna try to remember wat happened. OK BO did loose his leg in the explosion. However he wants to go back and join his unit. His father is flown out to see his son in the hosiptal, but when the nurse questions BO as to why his father hasnt visited him yet, Bo tell the nurse "You ofered him a free flight to Northern Europe, my father wouldnt turn that down." Turns out that BO and his father havnt spoken to each other since his father left when BO was little. When the two finally meet up, harsh words are exchanged, and BO tells his father that he doesnt want to let his unit down, reffering to how his father left him. His father leaves. Soon Bo's wife is flown in. She starts freaking out when she find out that BO wants to go back, even though the doctors say its impossible. Iraq - The Unit is being transported to a checkpoint to guard the road. Apparently there wil be a major offensive agianst the insurgents in a nearby town. The unit is set incharge of making sure that no insurgents try to flee by using this road. So they are left on guard duty. As the night progresses you can hear the battle raging in the town, and Dim and Smokes (the other black guy, besides angel) get into an argument about something, I dont remember what exactly. The units leader, Scream, comes out to break things up. Then they hear the distant hum of an oncoming car. The car is approaching quickly, with no headlights on. Scream shouts "Kieve" (stop, I guess) but the car keeps coming, "Open fire" and Scream,Dim, Smokes, and I believe Angel all shoot the car up, untill is crashes off the road. Scream tells them to leave the car alone, it could be booby trapped. The next day a small convoy approaches the station. The replacement for Bo arrived. To the units surprise the guy is from teh Middle East. When Smoke starts being racist and asks the guy where hes from, the man simply replies. "Clevland". That shut Smokes up. This new recruit knows alot about the area and its people. When Dim questions Screams orders about opening fire on that car, and how it couldve been ppl running from the battle, and they didnt have their headlights on because they didnt want to attract attention. The recruit piotns out that they were some kind of arab kids who were probally with the Ji-Had, having the time of their lives fighting against the American "Infidels". He proves he is right when he attatches a rope to the trunk, and pulls the trunk open, setting off a cache of C4, which was set to be a booby trap. The unit is happy to have someone like him there with them. Their second night at the guard station. A car comes down the road, "Kieve!Kieve!" it doesnt not stop. They are ordered by Scream to open fire on it. The car careens off the road. Dim who doubted them shooting at the first car in the first place cant take it anymore. He runs over to the car to check it out. "OH MY GOD!" he screams. "O GO-D NO!" "What is it Dim?" Scream asks "It's a little girl, oh god no." "Is that all?" "No theres an older man, looks like it could be her grandfather. Sir The little girl shes alive." Dim goes to open the door and Scream yells at him not to. But then the little girl starts to say something to Dim. Dim tells him that he isnt going to leave the little girl in there. He opens the door, and reaches for the little girl. He pulls her from where she was sitting, to see that the back of her head is blown off. "O GOD!!!" Dim collapses to the ground. Headlights appear on the horizon. Scream orders Dim back, Dim doesnt respond. Angel runs out to get Dim and brings him back behind the barriear. The recruit orders the car to stop. The car stops. He moves over to speak to the driver. Suddenly a cell phone begins to ring in the trunk of the car. The driver of the car starts to drive toward the station. The recruit shoots the driver, and the co-passenger. Opens the trunk to find a terriost leader who was trying to escape the fighting. They arrest him, and the credits start poping up onto the screen.

-Over There- Episode 1

Well lets see if i can keep track of what happened in each episode. OK tonight was the premire, and it was pretty neat. The soldiers were sent out, and you got to learn some of their stories. The guy with the glasses is having some trouble with his family, and leaves yelling at his wife. The lady that they call "double-wide" has a nice family, married with a 1 yr old boy. The one kid whos always asking about other peoples names he has a wife and a little kid. And thats all the family stuff u learn. Then you see them fighting in a desert field (or plain) and they are in trenches. The Insurgents are located ahead of them in a group of buuildings. When asked wat they are waiting for the sarge tells them the Al-Jazirid is with the insurgents and the general doesnt want to look bad on the news. They stay put. One of the two women, Ms.B (i think thats wat they call her) goes off to the side to use the bathroom. And of course she is spotted and a new firefight erupts. In the thick of combat the guy with glasses and the kid who doesnt have a nick name (Bo, I just remembered it) go out and rescue Ms.B . All three of them make it back to the trenches alive. The next day a sandstorm engulfs the plain, and the insurgents see it as the time to strike. The whole lot of them come running down toward the troopers, but supporting motar fire drives them back and in a full frontal assult the Troops retaliate and take the village and a number of prisonars. The Insurgent leader is loaded into a Bradley and taken off, not before screaming into the AL-Jizard camera about how the American will fail, etc. Later The troops are able to send video emails home. While they are at the camp "Angel" tell Bo that hes in a choir back home, and wrote a song about being there. The song used "over there" alot so you figure thats the main title theme. O yea "Dim" is the nickname of the guy with glasses. So they are being sent somewhere else and are traveling in a convoy over some highway out in the desert. Dim and Bo start to talk about Bo's name. Suddenly one of the drivers spots "some kid who just dropped something on the edge of the highway" they become suspicious and pull over. Unfourtunatly running over a hidden landmine. The landmine blows Bo's lead up pretty bad. (Really gruesome images) I couldnt tell if it was seperated, but if it wasnt its was barly staying together. This was probally the most dramatic scene of the whole episode. Bo's screaming in pain, the troops are telling the medics to give him more morphine, the medics are yelling that they cant for sum reason. (I also noticed that one of the medics is played by the red head boy who played the goalie in "The Big Green") A small medical helo shows up and gets Bo outta there. The chooper flys away and the credits start showing up on the screen as Angel's song is being sung. This show looks great saw the previews for the rest of the season and reconized one of the soldiers we havnt met yet as the guy who played Bull Randleman in "Band of Brothers". So far so good.

Battlefield 2

BF2 finally came out, julian, brian and i got it the day it came out. Lots of glitches and tons of lag for a bout 1 week there. Was so bad that sum ppl were goin bak and playin the demo. Pretty bad if the demo works better then the real game. They released a patch the other day, but surprise surprise, It has a bug. They fixed the bug and now the game seems to be running smoothly. and for me its eaiser to join my friends now that Xfire supports it.

Just got Lance Corpral and unlocked the better sniper rifle.

Reno 911 is back....

Well after waiting since last summer, new episodes of RENO 911! are back, and the first episode was not as strong as it should've been. While it did have its moments, espicially in the first 5 minutes, there wasnt enough comedy to last through the entire episode, unlike season three's starting episode. (Garcia killing that dog for the one guy still cracks me up).
