@Giygas07: you can tell the way this game was written it seemed like they were expecting this huge budget AAA title from a little kickstarter game. When they do that they only hurt themselves which can potentially be a great game if they didn't sound so elitist . OMG the animations were clunky. 5 seconds of animations doesn't kill a game.
This is actually a game I'm glad i bought before i seen the review. IF i seen 4 and the list of problems this writer said i probably would of avoided it like the plague. But in reality the problems aren't as extreme as its being made out to be. Yes there has been problems. But not enough that should deter anybody from picking it up.
It sounds like this review is reviewing it like a big budget game like say, EA Sports or Capcom. It shouldn't be. It is a kickstarter game with only a handful of people working on this. So lets do a TRUE review based on what it is
Yes. There are server issues. But as of this writing 6/3/17 they are getting resolved. I was playing both Private and Public matches last night. Wait times weren't horrible. However, i didn't get kicked from any of the games that were played unless the host left the game (which needs to be fixed especially if the host IS NOT Jason) And for those who are still having issues, i can only speak from the PS4 standpoint, there is a communities section. Add some friends! Its not the most ideal way to play but its a solid workaround until all the server issues are fixed. So its not like nobody can play. Issue: Yes. Major problem: Absolutely not.
Glitches: Some issues here, more of them of the clipping sort. But few and far in between than when it was first released. For instance, someone got their head in a fireplace and when jason backed away the same "victim" was hanging from the ceiling. It wasn't a glitch that that hurt the the match. In fact, I found it rather amusing. And most players in the match thought so as well. Oh Maw Gawd people enjoying glitches. Good times
Are we going to make a deal about animations? This is my philosophy and most casual gamers even some hardcore gamers i think can agree. IF the game is fun, graphics/animations are secondary. YES they are clunky at times. But again, do most independent games have the cash flow/help to make it absolutely polished? For a first game i thought it was an awesome first attempt from a little no name studio.
Atmosphere is top notch. I did feel tension of not knowing what was around the corner.
Soundtrack (or lack of) was good
I do agree there needs to be more maps. BUT i think it will come over time. Lets get the bugs worked out before we focus on any extras.
Single player mode is still coming.
With where it currently stands and what more this game potentially has to offer. It's a solid 7. Will it blow anybody away? probably not. But it definitely is NOT a 4 by any stretch of the imagination.
At the end of the day its fun. People are playing. Most are loving it. Any game that keeps me playing for hours at a time and not looking at the clock is a good investment
