My 60 GB got the YLOD about 2 years ago. It did have a game stuck in it, and it did not occur while I was playing the game. I had turned the PS3 off and the YLOD appeared when I turned it on the next day. If you do send it in to Sony, they will mail back the disc that was stuck along with the fixed PS3.

#8 is my favorite, but definitely get all 3 if you can. I've finished 7 and 8 and am going through 9 right now.

I don't have a video unfortunately, but it will be on spike TV tonight (June 11). But the program ends at midnight, so turn on your TV now!
EDIT: Video now available -http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-killzone-3/101188
I live half an hour outside of Boston, so it can be pretty hot during the summer. I haven't installed the AC yet, but I will try to put the fan closer to my PS3. Thanks.
For the past couple weeks, my ps3 has been acting weird when I play games. I'll be playing and the ps3 will be at the standard fan level (fairly quiet) and then all of a sudden, it cranks up to the highest level possible and stays there for a minute or 2, then goes back to the standard fan speed. However, last night, it cranked up to the highest level and I got message on the screen saying "Your PS3 is overheating, turn it off and leave it off for a minute or two." I called Sony and explained the situation; they told me to move the PS3 to a spot where it has enough ventilation.
I've moved my PS3 to a new spot, but does anybody have any other advice to give me? I do dust my PS3 about once every two weeks with a microfiber cloth. I've already paid $150 because of YLOD and don't want to go through it again.
I thought the combined shield/turbo gauge was something new and interesting brought to the table. Also, boosting the weapons by not initially using them reminds me of diddy kong racing, which is a good thing.
[QUOTE="GAMERKID707"]what? dont lie. there is no cross platform online play as of yet. It's very hard to programme.http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2007/mar07/03-14g4wandxboxlivepr.mspxpc and xbox 360 do that not pc and ps3

proof.
I've thought about taking it apart, but I don't have any experience taking apart electronics and computers to find problems. (My only experience was opening a PS2 controller to fix the L2/R2 buttons). I've seen the videos on youtube, but each one is like 10 minutes and there's several of them. I don't trust myself to open up my PS3.
