Since I was a kid, I have been head over heels for fantasy worlds. Lineage 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and 5, WoW, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Diablo 4 — I have wandered through every magical universe I could find. Watching my favorite streamers, playthroughs, anime, and fantasy movies only threw more fuel on the fire. So when I heard about Baldur’s Gate 3, with my background in Dragon Age, Divinity 2, and Pathfinder, I knew this one was going to be special.
Lineage 2 taught me patience and how to fall in love with endless farming. Heroes 3 and 5 got me hooked on tactical battles and the thrill of a perfectly played victory. WoW showed me what a truly massive fantasy world could feel like, and the magic of team play. The Witcher 3 stole my heart with its deep characters and tough choices. Skyrim gave me the freedom to be whoever I wanted and explore every hidden corner. Diablo 4 reminded me how fun it is to just dive into pure, endless action. All those experiences stacked up into a crazy love for the genre and paved the way for what was coming next — Baldur’s Gate 3.
And honestly, it was love at first click. Even just creating my character had me spinning: mages, warriors, druids, rogues — how do you even pick when you want to try everything? Spoiler alert: I did not. Now I have an entire army of saves. The turn-based combat is pure gold: every fight feels like a little puzzle where your strategy actually matters. And the story? It grabs you like a magic whirlwind and never lets you go. The quests feel alive, the choices actually change the world, and the characters are so good you cannot help falling for half of them (yes, Astarion, I am totally looking at you). By the time I clocked in over 100 hours, I realized Baldur’s Gate 3 hadn’t just met my expectations — it blew them out of the water. Sometimes I just sat there grinning at the screen because everything was that good. Inventory management, dialogue trees, hidden mechanics — every little thing in this game makes you want to poke around and explore. Even something simple like rolling for luck in a conversation feels ridiculously exciting.
Baldur’s Gate 3 became more than just a game for me — it turned into a full-on adventure I threw myself into. It was the kind of experience I had been heading toward for years without even realizing it. And yes, I still plan to replay it with different classes because there is no way I am leaving paths unexplored. If you are searching for a magical portal to another world, trust me, you found it. Just be ready to lose track of time...
and love every minute of it.
