The best music of the year by me!!

It's finally time, time to find out what song will be #1!!!! I would first like to say it's been a great year, and I hope to share some of my favorite music with all of you in 2009.

15) "Viva La Vida" - Coldplay

Coldplay is back, even though I'm not sure they officially left. Gonna go out on a limb here and say this is their biggest hit ever, bigger than "Yellow", "Speed of Sound", and "Clocks".

14) "Sugarbaby" - Morningwood

Anyone else watch FNMTV? It's their pathetic attempt to play videos while still having it as an actual show. I love most of the shows they have on MTV, but c'mon play more videos. Anywho, I saw this song on FNMTV and initially it was the video that caught my eye, but I fell for the song too.

13) "Miss California" - Jack's Mannequin

2 out of 3 for Jack's Mannequin. This song with its quite fun/questionable lyrics just gets me. Is this song really about a murder type theme, or am I crazy?

12) "That's What You Get" - Paramore

Ah Haley and her eyes. I knew this song would be a hit, it was one of the songs I listened to before it was actually released on Riot!.

11) "Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis

VH1's #1 on of the year is my #1 with another 1 attached to it. I didn't think I would like this song, but I do, it's a shame the rest of them seem to suck.

10) "When Did Your Heart Go Missing?" - Rooney

The highest of the 2007ers mainly b/c I didn't hear it in 2007, but rather 2008. Happy Ivy?

9) "Damaged" - Danity Kane

Shannon and the girls as I refer to them. It's a shame that D. Woods and Aubrey, but mainly D. Woods are gone. I'm not sure what the group will do, I hear talks of new albums, but you can never be sure especially with all the talk about Dawn becoming a solo artist. No link available that I like, sorry!

8) "The Resolution" - Jack's Mannequin

I heard this song coming home from the Pittsburgh Mills on the night I bought the Amazing Race DVD board game. At first, I didn't like it, along with much of Pittsburgh by their reaction to the DJ, but c'mon it's Jack's Mannequin, they're genius.

7) "Prototype" - City Sleeps

The original Launchcast hit. I still love this song. I didn't think it ever really had a shot at #1, but I knew top 10 for sure.

6) "Stay Beautiful" - The Last Goodnight

If you had asked me my pick for #1 in June, when it was just based on countdowns, this song wins hands down. It had the highest amount of points. The bad thing is that it's just a sometimes song for me now.

Top Five, with one Paramore song left.

5) "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)" - Wyclef feat. Akon, Niia, and Lil Wayne

First heard this song at work, and I knew it was gold. I still hear it to this day being played on two Pittsburgh stations at least twice a day. Side note to Sylent: How do you feel about Wayne in this one? If anything I think it's Akon that relies on his collaborations now that I've thought about it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since I like a lot of his collaborations.

4) "After Tonight" - Justin Nozuka

The highest of the You OUghta Know! Artists from VH1. It's a shame that VH1 used it though to prevent the Scott Baio reality show.

3) "Devour" - Shinedown

The theme song for the Island. That was a good RW/RR Challenge. Good theme song, good winner (Derrick was good enough to compensate for the other crappy ones Ev, Johnny, and Kenny). One of the few Madden ones I like.

Down to two...

2) "CrushCrushCrush" - Paramore

Despite having the longest time on the countdown, it isn't as like as it was in its prime. I still like it, just not as much. That and the fact that I freaking love #1, pushed it to #2.

And now my most awesomest song of the year...

1) "Hell Yeah" - Rev Theory

Fate wanted me to hear this song. I turn on CBS to see if Amazing Race is gonna be delayed and I catch the end of the Slamball championships and this song was being performed!! I had no idea who or what song it was so thank goodness for Google. This song is another reason for the NHL games soundtrack over Madden. Madden, in order to keep its E rating even though football had a buttload of tackling, mutilated this song, even making it be "Hey Yeah". C'mon, that was an Outkast song a few years ago, not a Rev Theory song.

There you have it, my top 75 of the year. Some of it was 07, 08, and even 09. See you all in the new year, even though some of you are already there!!

P.S. All five parts took up 9 pages in word!!
