October is Finally Here

Its the month that any rpg fan has waited for and it is finally here....maybe not because the two games we have all been waiting for don't come out until the last two weeks but whatever. Fallout 3 and Fable 2 look amazing and easily fall into the category of most anticipated games of the year. Hopefully they will soon fall into the category of greatest games of the year as well. I have been waiting for Fable 2 since I beat Fable 1 in just twelve hours and have been craving for more. I enjoyed every minute of Fable 1: the story, the music, the atmosphere because it truly made me feel like a hero. I felt attached to my character in some morbid way as I drove my gigantic sword into a helpless bandit and I believe that is a sign of a great game. I was a little disappointed with the short length of the game but I got over it and went back to play it again and again finding new treasures along the way. With Fable 2 just around the corner, I can only expect that it will deliver with the same great story and emotional attachment that will cause me to play this game nonstop, possibly leading to starvation but it will be worth it. Fallout 3 just looks fantastic. It is Bioshock on steroids. I loved Oblivion and an rpg that can tie in a great story with a butal and destructive enviroment is a formula for success. Seeing the preview of slow-motion deaths of guys getting their heads taken off by a giant metal fist makes my mouth water. The atmosphere looks so dark and creepy I can just see myself spending hours searching around desolate makeshift cities and exploring the different quests they have to offer. Fallout 3 to me looks like one of those rpgs that only comes around once in a long time. So with October here the only thing left to do is wait and hope the time goes by fast. Screw Halloween, I'll be playing Fable 2 and Fallout 3. Oh yeah Guitar Hero World Tour doesn't look that bad either, but I'll only get it if my wallet still has some health left by the end of this October.
