Jeesh, why can't the Xbox brand just die already! MS should just stick to what they do best and that ain't consoles.

It's statements like these that have convinced gamers like me that Sony looks at the bigger picture. Yes, profitability is always important but if the company's corporate values and constant product development is No1 priority, then profits will start generating all by themselves.

Beyond: Two Souls coming up in a few weeks time. It's another PS3 AAA on the way. Also check out Heavy Rain from the same developers. The story and mystique of these games is just amazing.

Doesn't really matter if Sony and PlayStation profit from it. All we know is that Sony made the right decision to switch from DVD to Blu-ray a whole console generation (8 years!) earlier. That alone is win for Sony.

Interestingly, I also have a backwards compatible 60GB PS3 from 2007. Those seem quite flawless indeed. Of course it might also be down to the way you nurture your console...

PS3 battling it out with X360 for places 2 and 3 isn't really that much of a ownage. You can't stay on top forever. Everyone has to have their ups and downs. When it comes to games, Sony's first party developers have probably never been better.

But what probably does fall into the ownage category is the Wii dominating the generation. Coming from nowhere after the failure that was GameCube, being despised and labelled as the gimmicky console by 'hardcore' gamers - and yet the sales wouldn't stop.

I hope they scrap throphies because they give no added value. They only serve the purpose of bragging - mine is bigger than yours.

So instead of wasting time on no-value trophies they should rather focus on adding actual content - that is longer campaigns etc.

Well I am looking forward to it, but I don't look forward to playing it with that gimped dual shock 3 controller that was clearly designed for mental midgets to begin with. After TLOU and Beyond... I'll finally be able to sell my PS3 and say goodbye to this gimped system that only shines with it's exclusives. After that, I'll be done with the Playstation brand for good because when next gen comes, sony is going to charge your cheap a$$ for the same bare bones network you have right now. And I'm not talking about that scam rental service PSN+, I'm talking about a mandatory annual charge. I hope they do it too. It will be better for everyone in the end.NotAPCGamer

MGS4, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, God of War, Resistance and lots of other brilliant exclusives. So YES, getting a PS3 is an absolute must.

Graphics is the most common justification for prefering PC gaming.

So no, "jaggies", like you put it, don't bother me the slightest. Graphics is the least important part of a game.
